Battle Of NY: Jets @ Giants

Post#1 » by Manhattan Project » Sat Oct 6, 2007 5:09 pm

While the coaches and players like to downplay the fact that this is just a regular game, this games means much more then that. As of right now the Jets need to get back to winning ways, for the Giants this game will show them how great they are or how bad they are. Lets take a look at a few players that we need to keep an eye on.

Image
Everybody knows Osi and Strahan, however Tuck has been excelling this season in the pass rush. He plays some DT and surprises people with his speed. We cant let Tuck start the sack parade on us.

Image
We need to find Kiwanuka on every play. When he is lined up at the linebacker spot we need to attack his way. When he is on the line we need to make sure we block him, because he is fast off that corner. They are starting to learn how to use him right.

Image
The man dont practice at all, he is in a contract year and is Mr Jeckel and Hyde this year. Plaxico will have a dominating half then a disappointing half, we need to shut him down. He is what drives the Giants Offense.

Image
Will the real Thomas Jones please stand up? The Giants defense is either great against the run, or horrible. We need to establish the running game because Pennington cant stretch the field against anyone.

Image
The Bills really attacked him last week, Revis is going to be ready again. Whether is the big play Plaxico or target favorite Toomer, Revis should be ready to see a lot of passes come by him.

Image
Giants cant defend tight ends at all, we need to start using Baker more in the passing game. He can really help this team a lot, however for some reason they just dont use him outside of the redzone.

Keys:
- Dont let the Giants start the sack parade.
- Keep Shockey quiet, a quiet Shockey does wonders for us.
- We need to come out with at least a few passes over 20 yards.
- We need to get pressure on Eli, if he gets to sit in the pocket he will pick us apart.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.
C- Maluach l Jackson l Hayes
PF- Okongwu l Newell l Salaun
SF- Wiggins l Bryant l McNeeley
SG- Thomas l Wallace l Nembhard
PG- Murray l Collier l Dillingham

Good post!

Francessa also picked us because the Giants don't do well with prosperity and praise... for what it's worth but I see his point...

Also, we need to find a way to stop the run and rush the bajesus out of Eli.

It's hard as hell to establish the run when we have a QB that can't throw the ball downfield.

I hope we can pull this off because if we can't, the season's about over.

So far, so good! Very inspired effort by the Jets, we lacked that fire and intensity earlier this year!

Our defense is aggressive, the secondary is playing outstanding and our linebackers are making plays. We still need a bigger defensive line, Robertson is so easily pushed off the ball it's not even funny. At times the Giants RBs can rush straight forward for atleast 10 yards without one of our Dlinemen near the ball. No LB will make good tackles on a RB at full speed downhill.

On offense, we made a couple of terrible playcalls and we are still a little limited. Thomas Jones needs bigger holes yet he is also running a little too straight. Coles and Cotchery are just terrific and Chad is playing a very fine game.

Big kick by Nugent, thank you Eli!!!

Hopefully we can keep it up in the second half, GO JETS!!!!

Btw our rookies look absolutely terrific, Revis is really supporting the run D well and had a nice day in coverage too. Harris is stout inside and made a terrific on that once screen pass...
