Trivia Question:

What do Jack Nicholson and j-far have in common?

Clue:

Nicholson is a keen sports fan, regularly to be seen in courtside seats at Los Angeles Lakers basketball games at Staples Center and the former Great Western Forum. In 1999 he appeared on the UK TV chat show Parkinson, where he described himself as a "lifelong Manchester United fan".

I pretty much just watch sports these days when I have time. Or movies.

GI Joe looked liked the worst movie I had ever seen from the trailers, but it was actually decent for this time of year. Really fast paced and more edgy and evil than I imagined- not really a kids movie.

So I did some research and thinking about my tenure here at RealGM and such.

When I signed up and got to know you guys on the Comm thread specifically(the golden years)
I was basically unemployed or working paint jobs and music.
I was involved in all those fun dramatic events: I had a jealous boyfriend of an ugly woman I could care less about following me with a gun. Destroyed a biker for messing with my drummer. Went through the wonder-woman saga, then started moving though hotties pretty rapidly. -

On realgm at the same time:
-the end of the shaq years
-the retirement of Phil followed by Rudy T and Hamblen
-rebuilding drafting of Andrew
-Crackjack, Cupcake, Santa, Phil, Fokker, Alfred, Snaq, and Miles were the stars of the board

After that two years:
I got a .com job
numerous disappearing acts by some of my favorite posters
wonder womans song becomes people's favorite song by me
several bands come and go
I enter a serious relationship which I'm still in

On the board:
Numerous new mods including Miles, Dcash, Phil, Jfar
return of Phil
Kobe MVP
return of the Celtic rivalry
Pau trade
Championship
babies and deaths- cycle of life

I got to thinking what a long strange trip it's been with you all because I was told I "have to" take a vacation because in 3 years of work I've taken exactly one day off that wasn't a sick day. That's crazy because I basically went from 2 years of almost no real "work" to speak of to 3 years without a break including 45 of the last 50 days on the clock with nightime music gigs 2-4 times a week. Things sure have changed alot.

What's it been like for you guys in your life over your tenure?

when I signed up:
I had a cushy job in Point Loma with breath taking view working about 25 hrs a week
I had a lot of time to crack jokes on the board and very few worries in life

On realgm at the same time:
-the end of the shaq years
-the retirement of Phil followed by Rudy T and Hamblen
-rebuilding drafting of Andrew
-Crackjack, Cupcake, Santa, Phil, Fokker, Alfred, Snaq, and Miles, Santa, Davidse, DD, and WWJP were the stars of the board

After that two years:
I work about 70 to 80 hours a week on a ship
numerous disappearing acts by some of my favorite posters
I am a legit war veteran (as oppossed to by default just for being in the military)
I enter a serious relationship with Seven of Nine during my holodeck time.

On the board:
Numerous new mods including Miles, Dcash, Phil, Jfar, not Snaq (shakes fist)
return of Phil
Kobe MVP
return of the Celtic rivalry
Pau trade
Championship
babies and deaths- cycle of life

I got layed off from Macys in Century City and on the way home stopped by the recruiters office in Santa Monica. I was really concerned about job security at the time because I had a one year old to take care of.

OT : Tatoos

Post#817 » by StarneyBinston » Thu Aug 13, 2009 2:45 pm

Tatoos are a pretty common thing among nba players, but what about their fans? I mean you. And me. Anyways.

So? Have you got tatoo(s)? Where? What do they represent? Are they related to our beloved Lakers?

If you don't, do you plan on getting one (or several)?
If no, why? Are you a little wuss who's afraid of getting something inked on his skin forever? Just kidding. =)

nice posts dd and snaq. nice to see you guys movin' on up.

alright, so i was having a conversation with some friends about the song that defines the 90's. not necessarily your favorite, just the song that defines the 90's. i understand their might be people who were born in the 90's, thats ok. some of us were still in elementary school when the 90's hit, no big deal.

my nomination after seconds of grueling deliberation:

yours?

I don't have any, and I sure as hell wouldn't do a sports team or band no matter how much I loved them. If I did get one, it would be my family crest with updated animals to reflect my wolf instead of a fox and a red tail hawk instead of a falcon. And I'd make it 3/4 of my back... but for now I'm good without ink.

i saw a thing on how the Dodgers offer free Dodger tattoos on certain days at the stadium on tv the other day. Crazy.
