Apparently with Chauncey and Anthony Johnson. He says he is flying here right now.

As long as they don't consider him the "wing" that is going to replace Kleiza, but instead a 3rd string guard that will keep Carter as far away as possible...then I'm ok with signing him. Then go and sign Wally or a different true SF, plus another big.

If he is working out with Billups already, maybe that shows some desire to improve and work on his game so he can actually stick around in this league. That would be a good thing. We've had some success getting production out of other people's trash(Jones, Carter, Blake, Bird to some extent, plus others), so maybe we can do the same with him. After all he was also one of those highly regarded lotto picks coming out of school a few years ago. He lost most of a season due to injury, but these last couple years he has been fairly good.

Last year he had the best roland rating(6.2) on the Kings of anyone who played a decent amount of minutes. A passer rating of 5.6, and an eFG% of 47 on jumpers. For comparison Kleiza's passer rating was 2.3 and he had an eFG% of 42 on jumpers. J.R. Smith was 7.1 pass and 53% of jumpers. It's a small sample size, but can still give you an idea of where he is at.

i wouldn't be mad if he came on board. i think he's one of those players that develop over time given the right system to play in.

McCants, Wally and (fingers crossed) Joe Smith and i'd be ready to go

We apparently tried to trade for Q-Rich today before he was dealt to Miami(per Bearup).

I'm sure we asked for a little something more than just him(probably a draft pick), but who knows. It is encouraging though however, that we are willing to use the TPE in some way. Not that Richardson is who anyone would really want(although he is probably about the best we could do with our TPE)....but he could have always been flipped for someone else later on(who makes up to 10.5 mill).

I'll also remind you that people were throwing the same tantrums last year after Camby was cleared out. That turned out alright, and despite people thinking the Nuggets were going to become extremely cheap, they took on Chauncey's salary and the future cap problems it would cause. I don't think the front office has a mandate to cut costs, I think they have a mandate to not spend recklessly. They've done well with that thus far. Have a little faith and some patience.

As far as pining for guys from Europe goes, the NBA isn't Europe. The international style of play is different than the NBA. Plenty of GM's have been enamored by "big men who could shoot" from Euro leagues, only to watch them bust when they got the big show. The Birdman has delivered in the NBA and demonstrated in the actual league, not just promise and hope.

i don't know who you are, but i like your style.

I agree totally about that. - and it's the performance and the delivery and the desire all mixed that makes it a better move. Besides, it was talked about, moving Camby out to clear salary and get value. Birdman did what was asked. What more can a man do?

Kleiza suffered in his performance. Dude wanted to make a name, and worked pretty hard and ended up getting results.

If anything, with the Iverson then the Billups move the management has demonstrated not matter how smart the moves are (which is arguably very smart), they are not afraid to spend when necessary, without overspending. It's actually kind of a relief in this economy.
