Players that are noted for being proficient three-point shooters were slighted by the writer as he'd pointed out. I concur. When we're talking about shooters, we need to focus on those that have a wider repertoire of shots they take. That is, you've a player that can also shoot and make shots from mid-range and go inside with regularity. If your strength is primarily from the three-point line. Then you're likely one dimensional as a shooter as some could view House.

I doubt that's true. Guys like Korver and House can shoot from anywhere - its just that the three point line is their best shot as it counts for more points, and it's easier to get open from there. Do you really think Dirk could beat House in a game of horse? I doubt it.

Dirk has a higher career FG% and FT% and his 3P% is only slightly lower than House's. Sure, a greater percentage of Eddie's shots are from the perimeter, but you also have to factor in the respective number of open looks that each player gets. Dirk often has to make shots with a hand in his face or while fading-away, etc. House is mostly just a spot-up shooter, who has the benefit of getting a lot of open looks because he plays with 3 all-stars. I'm not sure who would win in a game of horse between those two.

Regardless, the article is ruling out shooting specialists and is measuring in-game shooting, not horse.

With that said, Mo Williams does not belong on that list and I think Pierce would be more deserving.

Speaking of Horse, I wonder is the NBA doing that competition again next year. A player from Boston could enter if he doesn't enter the three-point contest.

Return to Boston Celtics
