I believe this because:

1) It makes sense for Rogers to field a competitive team. The Blue Jays actually saves Rogers money in the long run because it gives them "free" programming so they don't have to buy things to fill up times (and hockey can only go so far). Sure, they have to pay salaries to players and employees but a lot of that is, more or less, covered by ticket sales, sponsorship and luxury boxes. Without the Jays, they probably have to spend more to get programming people would watch (unless watching amateur poker is still "in" in Canada). An interesting team yields increases across the board AND better ratings.

2) If I were Rogers, I would not give any more money to the current JP regime. Aren't the Jays still paying Frank Thomas? Hopefully, the new guy(s) would be more prudent in using the money than JP.

3) I like the Jalen/Antonio comparison concerning the Rios move. The Rolen move could be viewed the same way. Now, who's the baseball "BC"?

And McCown's stand with respect to Rios is that a trade of Rios for nothing is a positive step for the team. Rids them of a high salary for a player who is a stiff.

Exactly. JP needs to go, and this team needs a fresh start. I can't handle another year with JP at the helm.

How did JP manage to give out so many ridiculously overpriced contracts while at the same time pissing off so many agents? I mean that takes some real talent...

According to BA Dyson is expected to return to South Carolina.

The Royals are spending again however...the just shelled out $2 million for Wil Myers (3rd round) and $1.45 million on Chris Dwyer (4th round).

Pirates just signed another one...Jeff Inman (12th round) for $425k.

The Orioles gave 22nd round pick Cameron Coffey first round money ($990k) BTW. Thats more than what Jackson and Wheeler (the last 2 picks in the first round) signed for.
