Re: Build a Dynasty Trades and Transactions
The Detroit Pistons and the Houston Rockets have agreed upon a trade.
Detroit sends Clyde Drexler ($3,156,000) in exchange for Sam Cassell ($1,690,000) and Houston's own 1998 Unprotected First Round Draft Pick. Trade works due to both teams having capspace.
Detroit accepts, we felt in the draft, there was no "right" pick for the direction we're planning to go in, thus the selection of the best player on the board, Clyde Drexler. Here we pick up our future PG that can grow with the team, and a first round pick in a relatively deeper draft. Cassell has over 6+ years of terrific production, roughly 18 points, and 6 assists per game.

We want to win now, while we have the chance, and cassell is relatively a nobody for the next couple seasons and i have a feeling drexler will play great with hakeem

Re: Build a Dynasty Trades and Transactions
The Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz have reached a trade agreement.
Jim Jackson-5,400,000
for
95, 97 unprotected 1st round picks and David Beniot 2,400,000
EDIT: Trade works due to Utah being under the cap.
Dallas is looking to rebuild around their young Superstar PG in Jason Kidd. We felt like we were a play-off team but have no post presence to speak of, so we didn't believe we were serious contender.
Adding two future picks and a cheap, solid rotational player while cutting salary makes this trade an easy yes for the rebuilding Dallas Mavericks.

Re: Build a Dynasty Trades and Transactions
Utah accepts. We needed more talent surrounding Stockton and Malone, and Jackson is an excellent scorer and all around player (26/5/4 this year) and costs relatively little compared to other elite scorers. His efficiency will likely rise playing with a prime John Stockton, having two excellent shooters in the backcourt providing spacing for him, and having Malone down low to draw double teams and allow for kickouts.
Giving up two first rounders that will likely be at the end of the draft and a cheap backup who would lose minutes with Jackson around makes this trade an easy yes for Utah as well, and allows us to explore more options going forward with our new versatility.

Re: Build a Dynasty Trades and Transactions
The Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls have reached a trade agreement.
Rod Strickland-3,840,000
for
1996 Unprotected Chicago 1st.
This trade work's due to Chicago being under the cap.
EDIT:
San Antonio does this to add another future first (in possibly one of the deepest drafts during the span of the game) and to cut long term salary.
I think there is treading water as a fringe play-off team with no real hope for contending. We decided to completely blow it up and the best thing for rebuilding teams is to add picks and cut salary.
This trade accomplished both, thus making it an easy success.

Re: Build a Dynasty Trades and Transactions
Chicago accepts. No brainer on our part as our 96 first is going to be in the latter stages. Strickland gives us an excellent PG to add to some of the best players in the league.
It also "protects" me from Warspite getting him and beating me in 96.

Re: Build a Dynasty Trades and Transactions
The Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets have agreed upon a trade.
Detroit sends Joe Dumars ($2,193,400) in exchange for Cliff Levingston ($1,300,000), 1998 Denver First Round Pick (unprotected) and a swap of first round picks in any year Detroit chooses, sans 2003. *Dumars contract averaged out because of increase in salary in 95-96. Deal Works due to both teams being under the cap.
Detroit accepts, Dumars is the face of the Detroit Pistons, he was the last remaining core of the Bad Boy's 80's Pistons. He still has nice seasons for him in both the current and future, but unfortunately he doesn't fit in the direction we're planning to go in. Here we pick up another 1998 draft pick, and the right to swap draft picks in a year where we could potentially move up. And with Levingston retiring after this season, we get an essential expiring contract to help us become bigger players in FA in future seasons.

We aren't drafting 40-60 players every season. War is right, there are no 2nd rounds.

Sorry for the delay. Chicago agrees. Strickland didn't really fit a need, but getting him for a late pick in a weak draft was a steal. We turned him into an unknown pick in a deeper draft and cut a bit of salary.

Indiana and Chicago have reached an agreement.
Indiana will send:
Dale Davis- $8,100,000
Derrick McKey- $5,200,000
Chicago will send:
Toni Kukoc- $6,520,000
Luc Longley- $3,180,000
Charlotte Unprotected 2001 1st.
Right to swap 1st Round picks in 2002.
Charlotte 01 unprotected, Kukoc, Longley for D Davis, McKey and a swap option for you in 02.
Salaries work, due to Chicago being under the cap.
Indiana accepts due to the fact that there are so many contending teams currently, that utilizing our current talent for future picks will give us a deeper run in the early 2000s.

The Heat and the Knicks have agreed upon a trade:
Heat give / Knicks get: Bimbo Coles, Billy Owens, John Salley, Unprotected 1996 First Round Draft Pick (Heat)
Total: $11,940,000
Knicks give / Heat get: Doc Rivers, Bo Kimble, Rolando Blackmon, Greg Kite
Total: $10,969,500
$10,969,500 x 1.25 + $100,000 = $13,811,875
The Heat accept. We give up more talent in the trade, and giving up an unprotected pick in such a good draft is very risky, but we're willing to do so to shed some long-term money and gain great financial flexibility.
