Associated Press

HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets have signed center David Andersen to a multiyear contract to help make up for the loss of Yao Ming.

The Rockets acquired the rights to the 6-foot-11 Andersen in a trade with Atlanta on July 14. Houston scrambled to find a center after announcing in June that Yao was out indefinitely with a hairline fracture in his left foot.

This makes me sad. Seems like, as desperate as HOU was, we should have gotten a conditional first rounder........AT LEAST.

I maintain that Childress, Andersen and JSmooth should have been enough for a top front line player. (Amare, Bosh, Dirk)

Not really a big issues to me as I said already when he agreed to signing. We selected him with a second round pick, he's now older, and we acquired our investment back.

Minnesota receives Houston 2010 second round pick, so maybe we get one of the below picks....

• Houston has the option to exchange second-round draft positions with the Clippers in 2011 (Steve Novak trade).
• Houston will receive a conditional 2011 second-round pick from Memphis (Steve Francis trade).

For good or bad, at least we'll finally get to judge the NBA Live version of whatever we've been missing out on all these years.
