Lakers should still be on top (Pretty Lame Article)

Everybody is saying Artest has lost a step defensively. I can't wait for the season to start to see if it's true or if it was the bulky ankle last year. I think it was the ankle and he is still prime.
It also says Kobe will be tired so adding a backup has got to be a good idea.

is that even an article? whats so good about it dexmor?

some things that quickly caught my eye...in kobe's description it says "The team's only superstar. ". that seems like such an odd way to phrase it. do teams usually have more than one superstar since the lakers ONLY have one? then it says he hasn't had much rest despite the fact that he's not even doing any basketball stuff this summer. more importantly, kobe has commented several times that playing for team USA was easier than going through his regular workout. also, the first line "Kobe Bryant might be the NBA’s clutch player…He draws so much defensive attention, allowing for open shots for his teammates" just sucks. kobe might be the nba's clutch player? huh? talk about horrible opening.

for drew, it says "but does he care enough?", any good article would focus on bynum's health, not some cheap off the wall comment trying to get reaction.

lamar a borderline all-star? not even close.

there's more, but thats not a good piece at all. it reads like someone with a limited knowledge of specific teams and thus resorts to easy set ups like kobe's rest, bynum's effort, artest's attitude. nothing insightful at all. lets forget the fact that the writing itself isn't even up to par with regular ol' realgm posters.

O.K. not a good article but a Lakers article so I figured maybe some might want to read it.

I see your points that the writer made some comments that are arguable.

I liked the article... especially when they show the faces of our top 6 players. Bryant, Artest, Gasol, Bynum, Odom, Fisher. Just showing those faces makes me remember again how no team matches up with us in a close 4th quarter.

Fisher/Bryant are clutch playoff shooters while Artest/Odom are a tough matchup for opposing teams. Gasol and Bynum are our twin towers. We are unstoppable when we are focused. I can't wait for next season.

Yeah and im not ready to retire Fisher either. His game doesn't use any athletism what so ever and he never could jump, dunk, run fast so not much has changed. He will maybe average 1 point less.

hey star, you must have not been a Laker fan very long. Fisher used to be able to do all of those things

When he was young he was more athletic then 35 Fisher but he has been playing like this for years. This is his game. Ray Allen was in the dunk contest but his game never relied on athletism and he wasn't an above the rim player. Thats what I mean.

There only 5 superstars in the league really

2 guards 2 forwards and a center

I would say
Wade
Kobe
LeBron
Duncan
Shaq / Dwight (after Shaq packs it up)

Lakers have a superstar in Kobe an all-nba all-star in Gasol and 3 borderline all-stars in Artest, Bynum and Odom

The Lakers have chemistry, the best coach for winning a chip and great role players that is why the Lakers are the best
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

I would have to say there is more then that.

Howard,KG, Paul, Roy, Williams, Dirk, Melo, Durant soon, Rose soon,

There is superstar-allstar- star caliber player-borderline star or close like Odom

I think the first 5 are in a different level above the rest
