Someone (can't remember if it was this board) asked how badly we could abuse the 125% rule. The following trades all work via trade checker:
Richardson>>Blount>>Jerome James>>Adam Morrison>>Steven Hunter>>Nate Robinson
9.3525M>>>>>2.911M?
Does that mean we would get almost 6 Million in cap space to use at THIS YEARS trade dealine?
Also if we were to buy out Robinson for 1 million, does the 1 million count against the cap, or the entire 2.911 he was owed?

Re: Cap Question
In theory it works as far as legal-capwise. (I think) But why would any of the teams do it?

I dont think any of the players are high quality, but the exercise was more of an academic, what could be done. If we just plan to cut Blount, why wouldn't we try to trade him for a lower contract? Who cares who the player is, they would be cheaper to cut than Blount, and if all we're doing is saving money, why not try to do a little better?
As far as these specific players, I don't know much about them. I tried to find low minute players, but I certainly wouldn't be shocked if the trades were rejected due to talent.

The problem is no one would really want Blount
I think, Jerome James has his salary covered by insurance; so they won't trade him for Blount (and Chicago is close to luxury tax so they won't want the extra salary)
Other options (maybe)
Battie is better than Blount; A. Daniels makes less and NOH won't spend the money; Darko is better and cheaper; Harping is cheaper and Utah doesn't need Blount; Mike James is cheaper and Washington doesn't need Blount
-so there are no good options anywhere for Blount
-I think we will probably end up negotiating a buy-out with Blount for something like 7.5 million and then he'll go sign somewhere for the min to be the 3rd C.

Re: Cap Question
Question: whats the best site for cap numbers/salary info. I seem to remember a site posted a couple weeks ago, but don't remember what it was. It looked like a Excel Spreadsheet, with tabs for each team. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Sham sports isn't perfect but it's usually good enough. Better than hoopshype anyway

Looks similar and the same type of information, but the one I was at was like an Excel spreadsheet with tabs and everything, and it was updated too.

All 3 of those are very accurate. I prefer Sham's site, but they're all good.

Sham isn't as prompt with his updates though.

Yeah, I'd give him a slight edge in accuracy, but the other two seem to always be up to date.

You were talking about him when the one I posted was brought up in the Hollins thread.
