Boston-Memphis-Indiana-Denver + Iverson for LLE

Post#1 » by Jammer » Mon Aug 17, 2009 3:40 am

Can't run this thru the trade checker because ESPN and RealGM's trade checkers
don't allow Sign & Trades. Memphis is under the cap, and can simply accept a player.
Denver has several trade exceptions, but can't use them as part of a multi-player trade.

Boston sends Brian Scalabrine + $2 Million Cash to Denver
Denver sends draft Rights to Xue Yuyang (57th pick, 2003) to Boston

Boston sends Tony Allen to Memphis
Memphis Sends Top 55 Protected 2011 2nd Round Pick to Boston
(pick stays with Memphis unless # 56-60)

Boston sends draft rights to Lester Hudson to Indiana
Indiana Signs & Trades Marquis Daniels to Boston

Allen Iverson Signs with Boston for the LLE

Rationale:

Denver has 4 Bigs on roster, and 11 players under contract. Scalabrine gives them a floor spreading team player, who they only have to pay 1.4 million (since they got 2 million from Celtics). They give up rights to some guy who will never play in NBA. Boston saves $1.4 million in Scal's salary plus $3.4 million in luxury tax.

Memphis has 4 guards on roster, if you count Marko Jaric as a guard. Tony Allen would be the third best guard (Behind Mike Conley and OJ Mayo); and the backup PG and backup SG. He could be paired with Marco Jaric, who is a deep shooting slow poke. Tony would pair well with OJ Mayo, and despite the many comments about Tony being a D-Leaguer by posters on this board, Tony's NBA stats leave D Leaguers in the dust. Tony is FAR BETTER than anyone Memphis has behind their starters right now at either guard spot. Tony is also a better defender than anyone on Memphis' roster.

Indiana walks away with the draft rights to Lester Hudson for giving Marquis Daniels a Sign & Trade.

This leaves the LLE available to Sign Allen Iverson, while keeping 3 point specialist,
end of game clutch shooter and team synergist Eddie House.

Basically, Tony is going to Memphis, Marquis to Boston, and Lester to Indiana in one deal;
and Scal is going to Denver for cost savings and AI is coming to Boston for the LLE.

Boston ends up with 13 players.

Position *** Starter ************** Backup *********** Active 12 ********** Inactive Lux Tax Sucker
Center **** Perkins ************* Rasheed *********** Williams
PF ********** KG ****************** Big Baby
SF ********** Pierce ************** Daniels ??? ********************************** Billy Walker
SG ********** Ray Allen ********** Daniels ??? ********** Giddens
PG ********** Rajon ************** Eddie ************* Allen Iverson

I don't get the whole AI thing in Boston. So what you are saying is AI comes here as a 3rd string PG? Not going to happen. AI wants to start and if the doesn't, he will fake an injury and abandon his teammates.

DEN is certainly not taking on bad contracts. They traded a first rounder away to get rid of Hunter and now they will take Scal and his 3,5 million back? Zero chance of happening!

allen iverson has made it clear that he will NOT come off the bench. he wants to start. no way we're benching rondo just cuz A.I.'s comin to town. he'd be great comin off the bench. that way, our PG problems would be solved, Marquis Daniels could back up Paul Pierce and Eddie House can play his natural position at SG since he shoots the lights out!

Unfortunetly, A.I. stated that he'd probably retire before coming off the bench. Hard to change a guy like Iverson's mind about something like that. :(

A) AI is not playing for 1.2M$

B) I'd rather House than AI because he knows his role and wont bitch

C) Keep AI off this roster

AI is my 3rd all time fav player behind Pierce and Reggie Miller. Correction, WAS my 3rd fav player. I have lost so much respect for him since last season w/Det. He doesn't care about a ring over a role player. He'd rather score 25 ppg and make 8M$ than avg 12-15 min a game, make 2M$ and win a ring.

Keep him away from us.
Paul Pierce said it best about Caron Butler and the AS 2007 Game:

"Caron Butler should send me flowers for being injured so he could make the All-Star game, because if I was healthy, he wouldn’t be in there.”

A.I will ruin your team. Like return2glory said he bailed on his team and teammates and I doubt there will be any team out there (contenders) that is willing to allow a headcase and a cancer like A.I into their lockerroom.
Skip him. He should've known his actions was going to come back and bite him in the arse for icking his team over like he did. I hope he played his last game.

How many times does this need to be said? Memphis is not taking Tony Allen off of our hands. No one is, no one wants to. He has negative trade value and no one wants to pay $2.5M and take the cap hit for his minimal contributions. Indiana would have taken him straight up for Daniels if another team was willing to take him for free.

AI is also not coming here. He'll get more money, years, and a bigger role from Houston or Charlotte.
