Then read again. The problem with May is not that he is fat but that his word is worthless and every sane person can see any comment about his good shape is much more probably just bull than not. and he is no LeBron even when he plays. He can't play major minutes, because he needs to catch a breath a lot and he is a dešfensive liability (despite that random block on LeBron). Simply don't make your expectation too high otherwise it would be tough to face reality later in the season.

Don't say we dind't warn you.

There surely aren't because rules don't let teams to add conditions to contract which would be connected to health.

Health, no. But conditioning and productivity...yes, teams can add incentives for those parameters. They can easily add incentives such as a $X bonus for maintaining a specific weight for Y% of the season, or a bonus for each week that he meets some specified conditioning test benchmark that is based on speed and agility, or getting a bonus for averaging a certain number of blocks or rebounds in games. Teams have a lot of options to put in incentives that encourage conditioning and fitness. And if a player doesn't agree with the incentives, they are free to not sign the contract.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Right on the dot

The Kings signed Sean May to a one-year, $884,881 deal last month, but a portion of a contract isn't guaranteed.

Sources told the Boston Globe that $100,000 of the deal, which is worth the veteran's minimum for a player with four years of NBA experience, is tied to May's weight.

The former Bobcat will receive the $100,000 if he reports to training camp or begins the season at or below 265 pounds.

Is that the only incentive the contract has, or just the only one we know of for sure?
