The topic turned to what could Washington get for James and Stevenson? Alone both are worth little even together not much more. Keep in mind Stevenson still has 4M+ left on his contact after this year(unless hoopshype is wrong).

Jeffries is the contact NY would like to get rid of, little Nate did score 17.2 pts/gm last season. Second trade had Mobley, by all account $7.2m is paid by insurance, I'm sure your owner would rather have that cash than pay James to sit on the bench. Granted, Haywood might be the best player, take him out, only used because salary matched.

Lots of fondness here for Haywood’s game, hence the swift response. A recovered Stevenson offers pretty good perimeter play and an outside shot on a two year contract, Jeffries offers pretty good defense with longer arms and can play multiple positions on a two year contract, but at a higher salary. The James and Mobley salaries equalize it, but James could at least back up PG if needed, and he might have more value at the trade deadline to a team that needed a PG this year (due to injuries, etc.) with an expiring K.

I'm pretty happy with the roster right now.

I know that we have many guards. I think though that we could still trade Crint and James and pick up another guard that would help u much much more.

Phoenix is going to waive Sasha Pavlovic.

I like the clever placement of Stevenson at SF, hiding the 4-deep SG position, along w/ Foye and McGuire, who can play SG and could reasonably expect a few minutes (more than a few w/ Foye) there.

I don't mind upgrades, but this adds just another face to a deep position; the second version leaves you with 8 guards and 7 in front. Wizards need depth at the bigs--shot blocking, inside scoring, and especially rebounding; as mentioned elsewhere, they might need more beef. I don't mind any solution that addresses the guard glut, but Crit or James serves a function as backup PG. In addition to big men, a true PG to backup Arenas and a tough perimeter defender could complement this team, all of course at the right price, because I generally like this team and would like to see them play together for a minute before making major revisions.

^ I'd like to keep Critt as an emergency PG this season and cheap backup next season. Either way, I doubt Phoenix trade Pavlovic to anyone because they can simply waive him and get his non-guaranteed salary off their books.

How can grunfeld say that, when you have all of these guards just sitting around.
We have 10.3 mil (hoopshype) sitting there to be traded and I'm talking about
Deshawn Stevenson and Mike James. I'm not sure what to go after but for 10.3 mil
in salaries you can find something. Here's the thing about grunfeld and I know a lot of folks on this site thinks he's great. grunfeld gets to happy with making just ONE move. The wiz is not a team that is in need of just one player. The bottom line is that Grunfeld needs to be more aggressive and stop
waiting for something to fall in his lap.

I think what EG said was effectively - we're done making moves unless something big comes along. And that's fine by me. It leaves open the small possibility of an Amare trade.

Yeah, that's worse than Otis Birdsong - back in the day. The thing about Pavlovic that's stuck out when I've seen him - talented player with good size but... horrible shot selection. Maybe it was his role to shoot, but my God, he seems to have no clue what a bad shot is.
