I can't believe im saying this but... Bruce Bowen?

Post#1 » by CodyB » Thu Aug 20, 2009 2:10 am

I think Bruce Bowen would be the icing on the cake for a Laker team that is looking to be more defensive/hustle orientated next season.

He will be good for 10-15mpg of solid defensive pressure, accuracy from the corner and some veteran savvy. It would give the Lakers the best defensive depth in the league and make us absolute stoppers at the 2-3.

I see this is a low risk/quite a good reward scenario that improves the Lakers cheaply and brings to the team a defensive presence, leadership and a good deal of hustle. All for the veteran's minimum.

idk how his defense will hold up at his age, but if he can shoot the 3 well he might worth a chance for us. never know how "the machine" will shoot...
Thank you, Phil.

10-15mpg he should be fine defensively. If he isn't he's there very cheap, if he's a problem WAIIIIVE.

I just sign him just so I can beat him up in practice and then waive his ass.

I'm a Blazer's fan but wonder why LA does not explore finding a way to pursue
Sessions. Is there anyway your team can move someone like Morrison for a trade
exception and move the exception for a resigned Sessions?

Because Sessions is out of our price range and our needs. We need a defender with a 3pt shot. That's it.

Two words for us Laker fans....Desmond Mason! He's a veteran big guard not great handles but that is not needed, he can get after smaller guards and he can score from all over...IMO the perfect guy to make Vujacic earn his minutes

Sofa King I laugh whenever I see your avatar now. That thread was probably the funniest I've seen in a while on realgm.

Expect I Sasha a lot better than Bowen, and I really hate Bowen and if I ever see him in a Laker unifrom then I'll be very mad.

He is dirty but thats not the only reason he was good. As long as he is on the Lakers he won't be risking injury to the Lakers as long as we don't have them going against them in practice.
