Rockets 2010

Post#1 » by Sports Arsenal » Sat Aug 22, 2009 5:11 am

Nothing really going on besides the minor signing of Pops, thought this might spark some conversatoin...

Who do you think the Rockets should pursue in 2010?

My answer is "hands down" Dwayne Wade. He in my opinion is exactly what this team needs.

Im liking a line up of

Brooks
Wade
Ariza
Scola
Yao

Just trying to gauge everyones opinion

We should pursue LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and settle for no less than JJ.

But realistically speaking, unless we exercise some options or make some trades I don't believe we'd have enough to offer a max (especially considering Scola should be a FA we'll try to retain), and no star player would want to come here especially with Yao's status up in the air.

And all the other younger guys with potential are restricted FA's. So I'm not sure.

As long as Yao's here, it's a great destination. Not only should the fanbase of a player grow playing in a big city, but he gets the added benefit of having many people in China watching him, regardless of Yao's health. Speaking of which, didn't Chuck Hayes get a shoe deal?

On top of that, many athletes live or workout in Houston in the offseason. I think I saw Lamar Odom today.
I'm sorry I haven't been funny. I am not a comedian. I am Lenny Bruce.

picking up all the team options and resigning Scola should put us around the cap.

I'd try and get Lebron or Wade through a sign and trade. Maybe for our first rd. pick, Shane Battier and someone else.

or maybe even going after Rudy Gay since he'll be heading into the final year of his contract and will no doubt be looking to split from Memphis asap.

Just say 'no' to Rudy Gay.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor
