One bad game, but who expected this game to turn out like that? Let's get them tomorrow and the division is ours 8-)

It's all over...*draws gun and shoots self in head*

I love the fact that the Yankees got pasted because the truth is, they didn't play well AT ALL last night against the Sawx. Only the 20-11 score made Yankee fans FORGET the fact that Cano played sloppy, Bruney was bailed out by the offense, and the team got too comfortable.

Onto Sunday night, Cha-Ching Sabbathia must right the ship. They need to redeem themselves. Every one of them.

I recall Mussina having a very good Yankee career... and I also recall Posada being behind the plate for the majority of those starts...

There is no doubt that Posada has lost something in his receiving abilities. He doesn't prevent wild pitches and passed balls nearly as well as he used to, as the years of wear and tear and being the Yankee catcher for 130-140 games a year have finally gotten to him. But it is not like he has been I-rod behind the plate his career... i.e a cancer.

Mussina has been shalacked up in Beantown as well. AJ has just been victimized by 2 out big hits.

Guys, AJ Burnett has been second half brilliant outside of his start in Chicago and in Boston. He had back to back no-decisions and a 3-0 loss. Still, the Yanks are 7-3 in games started by him.

If the Yanks had a little more offense could easily be a 13-6 record, we wouldn't have this conversation.

I mean you can't be mad they got slaughtered yesterday, they came out flat. To be honest, the offense came to play though, they hit tons of balls hard, they just didn't find any holes. Thats the game of baseball, one day no matter how hard you hit it, it finds a hole. The next day you can scorch 3 balls and all 3 of them get caught. It happens. Lets go CC

Cano has been terrible so far defensively. Error in the first inning, error in the 4th inning.

Is there a team that gets more bloops, bleeders, flares and lucky cheap hits than the Red Sox? Infuriating. Second error by Cano today, but it was a tough play.

Ok, which one of you a-holes got on my back about Robinson Cano's defense? 2 errors in this game alone. This guy can't focus at key moments. He's got Swisher-itis or something. So **** annoying. Makes a game like this a lot closer than it should be.

Nice gutty outing by C.C... he was a lot better than his line would indicate...

Matsui is red hot right now... 4 HRs in 3 games... Matsui has been terrific this year..

I'm that "a-hole." I stand by my statement. How come when Cano has a bad game, a bad series, or a bad week, it is immediately because he is lazy? How come when Derek Jeter drops the same ball, it is just a misplay. Sure Cano has a track record that he still hasn't completely erased, and rightfully so. However, he has been absolutely FLAWLESS this year in the field, making plays that nobody else even has the chance of making and making it look extremely easy. Alright, he had a rough game or two in the field this weekend, big freakin ****. Jeters had games of 2 errors, Posadas had games of 4 passed balls, etc. Get over it, and don't call me an a-hole again or you will be gone in a heartbeat.

yea, a lot of bloops and bleeders, and CC had to throw more pitches than normal, but he was good enough to get this win. if not for cano's blunders the score would have been 8-2. We gave them two runs... Anyway, we batter beckett around for 5 homers and took control of this game early. Matsui with two homers and A-rod with the backbreaker... good win, and nice closeout by mo.. again, we have to be better when it comes to these short fly balls, we looked sloppy tonight... 7.5 games ahead!

Great win, and more importantly, as long as we don't get sweeped at Yankee Stadium next month by the Sox, we will cruise to an Al East title. Our bats were terrific tonight, Matsui with 2 homers, Arod with a huge home-run that imo was the hit of the game. C.C. grinded out 6 and 2/3 innings today, and should have been out there for more if it wasn't for our shoddy defense.

I love beating Boston, but I also love whooping around Beckett even more... so this was an entertaining night...

Look, I'd love to share what De Niro would say in the Untouchables, "enthusiasms..." but you're on some good crack if you didn't think this was a sloppy, lousy series. Sure the Yanks took 2 out of 3 from the Sox but it was the offense that took care of the job.

Keep in mind, allowing 4 runs was the BEST pitching the Yanks could hope for. In the playoffs, you are not getting 5 homers to bail you out or 20 runs.

Lots of concerns and one hopes the Yanks don't get as comfy as Cano does making bloopers.

1. The defense was not there. 3 errors from the Yanks plus, a botched strike from Posada which lead to a run.

2. The middle relief is disconcerting: Brian Bruney was dreadful. Aceves was rocked for 3 runs. BTW didn't some douche argue with me that Aceves was unhittable? Again, Aceves dead arm forced Girardi to use Hughes for 4 outs for the first time in quite a while. Robertson was touched up. I wonder if Girardi is resting Coke because he's getting touched up here and there.

3. Posada and front line of the rotation at odds? Sabbathia seems to have Molina catching quite a bit lately. Burnett and Joba don't seem to be able to agree on a gameplan. I'm a Jorge fan but you wonder what's going on behind the scenes.

So yes, the AL East is over. I mean, it's OVER. The Yanks won that battle but there are some things they need to sort out before October.
