Trade ideas...

Post#1 » by Qwigglez » Sun Aug 23, 2009 10:41 am

The Suns forum has been dead recently.

Here's a few trade ideas.
Jason Richardson + Sasha Pavlovic for AK47.
The Jazz need salary cap relief. A majority of you want Richardson gone and want a big. This way we kill two birds with one stone right?
The only way any team takes Richardson's contract is if the Suns get a larger one in return. AK47 would be an ideal player in the Suns system because he is a versatile big man known for his solid defense. I wouldn't mind AK47 starting next to Amare. Regardless of this trade, I hope the Suns pursue him once his contract is over with the Jazz.
Jason Richardson + Sasha Pavlovic + Alando Tucker for Michael Redd + Kurt Thomas
Again, the Bucks are looking to shed salary. And again, I don't believe anyone wants to take Richardson's contract unless we take a bigger one in return. I wouldn't mind taking on Redd's contract as long as he healthy, which I think our training staff will definitely help. Also get Kurt Thomas.
Sasha Pavlovic for Ronny Turiaf.
Not really the guy I envisioned the Suns pursuing, but a banger nonetheless.

1) Trade J-Rich for Camby + Ricky Buckets

This trade would reunite the Golden State Tandem of Daivs and Richardson, with Eric Gordon as their Monta Ellis. Clippers get rid of Ricky Davis and gain 3 point shooting, one of their greatest weaknesses last year in exchange for giving up 1 year of Camby off the Bench whose time could easily be replaced by Deandre Jordan.

The Suns get their interior post presence, and one of the best rebounders and defenders in the League in Camby.

2) Trade Sasha + Sweet Lou + Dudley for Azuibuike + Law

Golden State Saves money by waiving Sasha and dumping Law. This deal also frees up more PT for Anthony Morrow, and gives GS 2 energy guys perfect for their system, that can backup anywhere from the 2-5.

The Suns get their Raja Bell replacement at the 2 in Azuibuike. This deal also frees up PT for Clark.

3) Sign Stromile Swift as Insurance Big.

2009-2010 depth chart:

Nash/Dragic/Law
Azuibuike/Barbosa/Davis
Hill/Clark/Tucker
Amare/Frye
Camby/RoLo/Swift

VERY NICE!!!

Jason Richardson + Sasha Pavlovic for AK47. AK47 is a good defender but his defense in the post comes from weak side shot blocking rather than straight up post D. I'd rather keep JRich.

Jason Richardson + Sasha Pavlovic + Alando Tucker for Michael Redd + Kurt Thomas. I think the negatives outweighs the positive. JRich does exactly what Redd does but without the injury concerns and also despite being overpaid, still costs 3mil less than Redd.

Sasha Pavlovic for Ronny Turiaf. I'd consider this if the salaries works.

J-Rich for Camby + Ricky Buckets Hate Ricky D but I'd take him in if we get Camby in return.

Trade Sasha + Sweet Lou + Dudley for Azuibuike + Law. Dudley may be able to do what Buike if he continues to develop. I'm not convinced Law and Buike is worth giving up fan favourite Lou and Dudley.

Sign Stromile Swift as Insurance Big. I'd do this. Swift needs a good year as much as we need him to have a good year. He'll need to get back into shape though.

I would trade JRich for Camby and Ricky Davis, although nobody ever seems happy with Ricky D as their starter and I hate to suddenly put an already undersized backup SG in Barbs into the starting lineup.

I'd definitely do Pavlovic for Turiaf but I don't think GSW does this.

I definitely want Stromile Swift back if he gets back into shape. A low-risk high-reward if he comes back motivated. I haven't heard anything about him signing anywhere though.

J-Rich for Camby + Ricky Davis would be an amazing trade for us. But, from what I have been reading in other forums, Clips fans are not interested in taking contracts that runs past 2010. Most of them don't even want to trade Camby for LB.

How about the same trade for Kaman+Davis instead?

J-Rich is a borderline all-star, you should never trade a guy like him unless you're getting another player like him or better back. They should focus on trading Pavlovic's deal for a center but unfortunately that probably wont happen.

J-Rich and Tucker for Illgauskas and West (but highly doubt they would give up Delonte) would be a good deal for us. We get an above average expiring center in Illgauskas and West can play PG and SG for us. Shaq and Tucker were basically best friends on the team. Richardson is a big contract but I believe he would do well on the Cavs.

Suns lineup:
Nash/Dragic/West
West/Barbosa
Hill/Clark/Duds
Amare/Frye
Illgauskas/RoLo

D-League/injury help: T. Griffin

Cavs lineup:
Mo/Boobie
J-Rich/Parker
LeBron/Moon
Hickson/Powe
Shaq/Varejao

Decent lineups on both ends.

i dont understand why everyone wants to trade JRICH either... he is one of very few players who can create his own shot with a GREAT inside outside game.

yeah trading J-Rich especially for Big Z makes no sense. The only way a trade would have worked off with the Cavs was when we had Shaq and could have included Jrich for Big Z and West.

Now that we traded Shaq, JRich is easily our best post up player. I personally wouldn't mind having a lineup that consist of Nash, Richardson, Hill, Clark and Amare. Long , atheletic and having Hill and Nash with Clark will boost up his offensive game.

I would think that Frye would start towards the beginning of the season, but that Clark could start to work him out of some minutes and eventually (depending on both players' play) bump him out of the starting lineup.

I do think Frye will be a moderatly nice surprsie for the production we'll be getting out of him relative to what we are paying him.

That's a good point. When you think about it, people like Matt Barnes last year, though very hated among the Suns community for the most part, did a ton of stuff for the team when taking into consideration that he was making under a mil last season. I think Frye will have great production for the price!
