2010 - Draft Targets?

Post#1 » by Vindicater » Tue Aug 25, 2009 2:16 pm

What are your early favourites for each pick we will get?

Our Pick

Cole Aldrich: A big body that can be a defensive force if he puts his mind to it. Would be a good complement next to Jefferson/Love

Donatas Motiejunas: Seems interesting and could be a nice fit next to Jefferson. Needs alot of work still but could be a genuine super star.

Evan Turner: Oozing with talent, and at a position we need. Would be very interesting to see a Flynn/Rubio/Turner/Love/Jefferson lineup.

Ed Davis: Another kid oozing with talent. If we go BPA he could be it.

Charlottes Pick

Craig Brackens: Could be redundant with Jefferson/Love allready better, but he could be too good a prospect to pass up.

James Anderson: The big Wing who can shoot from the outside, nearly every championship team has one. Could Anderson be our guy?

Tyshawn Taylor: A very good defensive guard who will more then likely be able to guard both spots in the NBA.

Utahs Pick

Andrew Ogilvy: A true big man that will bang and do the dirty work while scoring when given the oppertunity too. Perfect for a 4th big.

Sylven Landesberg: Attacks the basket constantly, sounds like the perfect 6th man to me.

William Buford: Much Wayne Ellington of this year, his skills match what we need.
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

I'd consider guys like Willie Warren and Avery Bradley, basically perimeter guys that can create their own shot. Also Aminu and Paul George or any other wing with athleticism. I don't like Aldrich with our pick.

Unless Kevin or Al get moved, same rules as last year apply: No. Big. Men.

I think that's putting it a little too strongly, but a big man is definitely not what I'm looking for. At least not with our pick.

Turner, Aminu, Bradley, Henry, darkhorse Stephenson, I don't know if he's good yet.

Right now Turner is my guy
Henson has a big chance to be the guy at the end of the year. Was a 6'4 mid-major SG prospect until he shot up to 6'10. UNC plans to use him as a SF. AK-47 was a comparison someone made on the draft board.

All of them? Can we just draft everyone?

I think (*if we keep all the picks) we get a chance at a stud with our pick, but the Char pick could have a lot of value with the depth of this draft. Perhaps a Turner/Henson draft is possible. Talk about help on the wing.

Cool guys, These guys were not in any order, just a group of prospects that I personally think are interesting players with good potential right now (and we all know how much a college season will change the draft prospects)

Right now if someone told me we coule walk out with: Evan Turner, James Anderson and Andrew Ogilvy I would be happy.

THen again, show me this post next year at draft time and Im likely to go "urrrggghhh... what was I thinking"

Ahhh speculation is fun, god I hate the offseason

Kid can pass, decent lil jumper.

C.lupus, it is always early for this. But this is a slow time of year.

It's probably easier to say which one's don't interest me at this point, it's still so early.

Not interested in right now:
Ebanks
Patterson
Singler
Taylor

I am the only one to mention Henson? I will save a place on the bandwagon for later. :D

No mention of Wall? I gotta believe we have to take BPA no matter what position we are in and if we have the #1, that sets up an interesting situation.

Definitely on Hall and Henson. I watched some Henson clips last night, very nice. Best part is that it gave me some ideas for our offense this year. :-) Now if only I can find a 7 footer with his skills.

I like Jerome Jordan with our Utah pick if we don't get a center earlier.
