The presence of all those Cubs fans has Rockies officials projecting crowds of 40,000-plus for the first two, if not all four, games. Nothing new there. The Cubs led the National League in road attendance in 2008, attracting an average of 36,328. And they're a particularly hot item in Denver, where fans, denied a major-league team until 1993, were forced to turn to Superstation WGN for their baseball fix.
That's why they have a Wrigley bar in Denver I guess. Not fond of the other Chicago teams though.
i was in denver in july and i walked into a downtown bar on a friday night to use the restroom. i happened to be a wearing a cubs shirt. about a dozen or so patron's with cubs gear immediately starting whistling at me and giving me thumbs up. i laughed because the cubs weren't even in town...
