I can see a Gortat like career for him, he's a nobody for his first couple of years but shines as a decent back-up suddenly and highers his value.
I'm from Asia so I've watched him dominate, but there isn't much competition around here.
He can be good for 10 minutes a game, he needs to work hard for it and not expect it to come, if he feels that he's pouring his best yet he doesn't get rewarded - why not double your best? It can't hurt and will just help you more.

I am also an Iranian and wish for nothing more than seeing Haddadi succeed. I dont think this has anything to do with racism. I promise you that his words were lost in translation and the Iranian newspaper have written what ever they felt like as they most often do about every thing not just basketball.
Haddadi is a star in the Iranian team and did exceptionally well in the FIBA games and he was the biggest reason why. He can be a very solid player for any organization once he improves his fitness and stamina. His a finess player and does not need to bulk up to be effective but with added stamina comes better agility for longer periods of times. The truth is that he cant be in game shape if he does not get enough playing time but that is the case with every player from 1 to the 15th player. Most of us Iranians are a bit impatient, he needs to learn to have patience in this league and keep working at his game, eventually his time will come.
I do wish for every one to get to know us Iranians better though. We are truly a peaceful, loving, and for most part humble people that want nothing more than just being heard.
Love and peace.

Another guy on the main Griz board posted the full interview. Hamed was just being facetious in response to a question they asked, and they just posted the answer in English which changed the context of it completely.

What would the Griz require in a trade for the star of your team? Oh wait we don't need Haddadi because we already have the star of our team to sit on the bench, Nathan Jawai.

If Lionel Hollins doesn't get the memo that Haddadi is his most dominant starting center by the end of preseason, then there is something terribly wrong with the direction the Grizzlies are headed. In limited time, Haddadi has proven he has the skills to be a top 10-15 NBA center both offensively and defensively.

What would you think of a trade involving:
POB and CASH......POB expires after this year, while Haddadi doesn't expire until 2010-2011. Saves you guys some money, gives you an extra roster spot next year and your owner gets some more cash.
Thoughts?
Deal won't work unless the Raptors add some more salary since cash can't be used to match salaries. And judging by Memphis' past couple of transactions, Douby sounds like an piece that they might find useful since they are looking for a backup guard. Also his contract isn't fully guaranteed.

i'm a bucks fan and have been advocating adding haddadi pretty strongly last 6 months- especially after you guys drafted thabeet. he has shown in the limited minutes he's gotten that he could be pretty damn good, and as we are semi-rebuilding, we should be looking for guys like him that could be had for a steal. i read the report where he said he was "a star", and the first thing i assumed was that he was mistranslated, or that the thing was taken out of context at the least. sorry to see all this talk about racism, and we'll take haddadi off your hands anyday! cheers!

There's not alot of contracts that match up for Memphis and Milwaukee. Especially if they sign Iverson since it takes them to the cap limit, or very close to it. And your Bucks are over the cap by $10mil or so.
If Charlie Bell had less than his three years remaining, and Memphis doesn't sign Iverson, then some sort of deal with Haddadi and expiring contract Steven Hunter, with someone like Luc Mbah A Moute would work, but there just doesn't seem to be the pieces that fit for these teams in terms of players contracts and team salary room.
