Report: Harden, Heilman claimed on waivers

Foxsports.com is reporting that Rich Harden and Aaron Heilman have been been claimed on waivers, perhaps signaling the start of the purge. The Cubs will have until Monday to work out a trade, let the claims go through or pull them back. Harden makes $7 million, and Heilman earns $1.65 million. The Cubs are unlikely to meet Harden's demands this off-season, and Heilman is not considered a big part of their future.

Dump Heilman for whatever you can get. Keep Harden.

Harden has been one of the few bright spots the last few weeks. Of course he is pitching for contract. I was hoping we would resign him after the season, but if thats not in the plans I would not be surprised to see him go. I would let Heilman go for nothing in return.

I say you let Heilman walk. If we get a PTBNL great. If not, thats fine. Let Heilman walk to open up a roster spot and 40-man roster spot.

You dont negotiate a trade with Harden. Hes value will be with the sup 1st round pick.
