When you mention that what Vick did compared to Greyhound racing is worst how are they ? In what aspect ? Did you even read the link I posted on the sport of dog racing. Bottom line no matter how you cut it is on e in the same. They kill dogs in that sport in a much more vile manner, they're killing dogs by the hundreds every year. It's pretty safe to say Vick and his crew probably killed no more than maybe a hundred spread over the life time of his ring.
Bottom line is this and I'm going to put this in simple terms, here's the difference between the dog racing and Vick's situation. The government is getting it's "cut" from the dog racing industry, they got ZERO from Vick's operation on top of the fact it was illegal. Simply put bruh when the Red White & Blue ain't gettin theirs..........they come to take what's their's at some point.
But in the dog industry it's easy for the Gov to look the other way when they're getting what they know is due to them, so why should they give a damn about it ?
And if Vick made boat loads of money off of it like people think he did, don't you think the penalties would've been much more severe and warranted more than just 16 months jail time ?
And you've clearly missed the point of all my posts... I keep repeating myself... That's why I gave up...
I didn't read the link... It didn't work for me... But I'm intimately familiar with the Humane Society website, I know a lot about dog and horse racing, and am fully aware of what goes on there. I had a friend who rescued Greyhounds and Whippits...
The Humane Society is a notoriously biased source... I'm a fan... But you have to take what they say with a grain of salt... It's like going to Obama for information on how he's doing in office...
Frankly, the Humane Society is trying to garner as much attention to a bad situation as possible. From my friend and others I know that rescue racing dogs, the abuse isn't as widespread as they say. It's horrible, and it exists but it's just not as bad as the Humane Society says...
And a lot of that information is pretty old. Dog racing has cleaned up it's act quite a bit... And remember, the organizations and tracks that set up races (the poeple the Gov collect money from) just provide a place and means for people to race dogs... It's up to the individual racers to treat their animals right... A track is just a track... Every animal that enters the race should go home safe... Vick ran a dog-fighting ring... Chances are, none of the dogs entered in a dog fighting ring are going home safe...
So, to say that the only difference in Vicks situation and Greyhound racing is that the Gov didn't get their cut... Or to insinuate that Greyhound racing is worse than dog fighting... Is just idiotic...
In order for you to win that argument, you have to ignore the obvious, manipulate common sense, and spin the facts... If you can do that, good for you... But there's absolutely no point in continuing the argument...
Vick is NOT a victim... He was STUPID and ARROGANT... The government weren't out to get him because he's a sports figure, or any other reason... That's just too easy an excuse...
The reason his sentance was so short was because he took a PLEA-AGREEMENT... You do realize he pled guilty right? If the Gov HAD been out to get him, they wouldn't have let him plea-out...
And again Bruh... Or Pal... Or however you fellers want to 'Oky-doke' me...

Dog fighting isn't the main reason Vick was STUPID and ARROGANT... It has more to do with the fact that living the dream wasn't enough for him...
No more excuses... He was guilty... He did his time (he got off easy

But Artest is in NO WAY like Michael Vick...
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...

OK you've made a fair argument Kilroy, again I agree 100 % that what Vick did was utterly stupid I get that. The bases of my argument was to try to get you to see that dogs were being harmed in one an organized industry and two on that that vile and illegal.
I know Vick wasn't a victim, I was one of the first to say why would you piss away a career on something so foolish. Believe me and my boys always say that in order to "leave the hood" you gotta "get the hood out of you".
And yes I do realize he plead guilty, and me calling you "bruh" was to let you know I wasn't all that serious in my postings as it may have seen. I got the points of your argument, just wasn't convincing enough for me when the same thing is being done to the dogs no matter the organization or ring leader..........both killed dogs period. Vick is done but the racing industry isn't, no matter how much you've think they've cleaned up their act.
