joba is so undisciplined. to struggle with #8 and 9 light hitting batters is just ridiculous. he gets two strikes on complete bums and can't put them away.. with his stuff, you have to eat these guys alive.... inside hard outside with the slider... he has the stuff, but upstairs is what bothers me at this point so far...

Back on track, 34 games over .500, 5 games ahead of the Angels for best record in not just the AL for the majors as well.

Actually, the Yanks went up against the Braves and Padres who will have more HOF pitchers on those teams than ALL 4 WS Yankee teams combined. Ask yourself why?

Because pitching winning championships is so cliche' when you consider JEFF WEAVER was WS MVP for the CARDS.

Bunting, fouling off pitches to milk the count, going the opposite field, getting the fly ball, muscling an inside pitch just over the 2B, making fundamental plays...THAT wins Championships.

Saying small ball doesn't win championships is about as stupid as saying Derek Jeter is the most overrated player in MLB (as voted by his peers LAST year).

That's a testement to how many people really watch and understand the game vs. reading a stat sheet.

At least there is some structure to the Joba rules now. I just really hope that these absurd Joba rules are thrown out come playoff time...

Compare out starting pitching in the playoffs during our dynasty years to our 2002-2007 playoff rotations & tell me there isn't a GLARING difference.

btw- I wasn't asking about who had more HOF careers between the rotations, it is about who shows up & pitches in the postseason & who doesn't.

I remember that poll, but whats funnier is that his same peers that voted him the most overrated player also voted him as the player they would take first to start a franchise......

Joba rules this season are fine IMO
However, they should be thrown out come playoff time. Plus, next season I think they should just let him loose with absolutely no restraints
