If you can post your salaries in a clean/crisp manner for easy readability it would be much appreciated. In other words try and keep your salaries in straight rows and use as many periods after a player name and dashes between salary years to make it work. See the above layouts I used for Teams and GM names and the layout I used below for reference. Notice the right side alignment. This takes a little extra time and some use of the preview button but is worth the effort IMO as it just makes it so much easier to read. This is just a suggestion and by no means mandatory.
If you have Excel that is even better.
ALSO
If you owe money to a player not on your roster, please group them between players that are on your roster and your team salary. The following format is what I am looking for. Please color code Unguaranteed, Team Option, Player Option, etc (Pick your own colors)
Year............ 2009/10 ------ 2010/11 ------- 2011/12

On the Block - Leandro Barbosa, Jermaine O'neal, Antonio Daniels, Nenad Krstic
Near untouchable - I really like Augustine and White so it would take a lot to trade them - everyone else is on the block.
Transactions -
1) Resign Raymond Felton to a 4 year deal:
$5,000,000 $5,500,000 $6,050,000 $6,050,000
2) Miami trades/Charlotte receives:
Morris Peterson $5,992,240
James Jones $4,330,000
Daequan Cook $1,362,120
Chris Quinn $1,050,387
Joel Anthony $825,497
2012 Miami 1st
Charlotte Trades/Miami receives:
Gerald Wallace $9,500,000
DeSagana Diop $6,031,800
Bobcats accept because we get younger, dump Diop's contract, and get 2010 cap space (about 7 million). We will also have 18 million off the books in 2011.
3) Grizzlies send/Bobcats receive
Jason Kapono 6,212,960
2010 Lakers 1st Round Pick
Bobcats send/Grizzlies receive
James Jones - 4,330,000
Chris Quinn - $1,050,387
Bobcats accept. The ability to bring in young guys for a rebuilding team is huge, and Kapono is better than either player we send.
4) Thunder trade/Bobcats receive:
Nenad Krstic $5,160,832
Thabo Sefelosha $2,759,628
DJ White $1,036,440
Theo Ratliff 825,497
2010 Memphis 1st (Chicago has right to swap picks)
9,782,397 x 1.25 = $12,227,996 > $11,700,000
Bobcats trade/Thunder receive:
Tyson Chandler $11,700,000
Dontell Jefferson $736,420
Joel Anthony $825,497
2012 Bobcats 2nd
Bobcats do it because we cut salary, add what has the potential to be a lottery pick, add two really good prospects, and a center I really like. Loosing Chandler stings and changes my direction in this game, but I didn't have the necessary pieces to build a contender (I still don't), but I am now getting closer.
5) Bobcats release Theo Ratliff and Robert Swift.
6) Heat trade/Bobcats receive:
Jermaine O'neal $23,016,000
Joe Crawford $736,420
Chris Hunter $736,420
$24,488,840 x 1.25 = $30,611,050
Bobcats trade/Heat receive:
Boris Diaw $9,000,000
Nazr Mohammed $6,466,600
Vladimir Radmanovic $6,466,600
Raymond Felton $5,000,000
$26,933,200
The Bobcats accept becuase it gives us a better chance of a top 3 pick in a strong draft, and because it saves us $28,000,000 next year and puts us in contention for free agency. I think that the lure of a deep young team is going to draw one of Bosh/LeBron/Wade to Charlotte to play on Jordan's team.
7) Grizzlies trade/Bobcats receive:
Udonis Haslem $7,100,000
Bobcats trade/Heat receive:
Raja Bell $5,250,000
Alexis Ajinca $1,372,080
$6,662,080 x 1.25 = $8,277,600
Why the Bobcats do it: Bell is creating a log-jam at the 2 position, and I think that Bobcats fans deserve to see a team that will compete night in and night out - even if they do loose a lot. Instead of having depth at 4 position, I have it at 5, which is a major help to me.
8) Hornets send/Bobcats receive:
Antonio Daniels $6,600,000
Julian Wright $2,000,040
Chris Quinn $1,050,387
Total: $9,650,427
Bobcats send/Hornets receive:
Morris Peterson $5,992,240
Gerald Henderson $1,957,080
x 1.25 = $9,936,650
This might be the one trade that I regret at the end of the game, but I do it for two reasons.
-It clears enough cap space to offer a max contract, plus a contract of about $3,000,000 or so after my draft picks are signed.
-It gives me more trading flexibility. I think I can use Wright to clear Kapono's contract off the books, and then I can start looking at trading expirings for some complimentary players.
9) Phoenix trades/Charlotte receives:
Bobby Simmons $11,242,667
Sasha Pavlovic $4,950,000
Alando Tucker $1,071,720
Charlotte trades/ Phoenix receives:
Udonis Haslem $7,100,000
Jason Kapono $6,212,960
Julian Wright $2,000,040
2010 LAL 1st
10) Sacramento trades/Charlotte receives:
Malik Allen $1,300,000
2012 Sacramento 2nd
Charlotte trades/Sacramento receives:
Cap space via $1,918,000 TE from my 4th trade
I needed a power forward, and the 2nd round pick was an added bonus.
11) Charlotte has resigned Thabo Sefelosha -
Year 1: $3,000,000
Year 2: $3,000,000
Year 3: $3,000,000 (player option)
We are committed to building a winner, and I think that Thabo can be a big part of that. He will be our primary backup at shooting guard and recieve minutes at small forward, in total it will be right around 20-24 minutes per game. We have lots of shooters around him which will help to cover some of his weaknesses, and we are set up for a monster off-season. The Bobcats will have about 35 million in cap space, after we factor in cap holds and signing our draft picks (1 pick will be high lottery, and one mid-first round). We will use that to sign at least one big-name free agent, and very likely two. Next year my depth chart may very well be the best in basketball, and one of the youngest. Thabo will have the chance to play under a coach (Larry Brown) who has turned players similar to him into great assets, guys who make 8 to 10 million a year; a prime example of this is Tayshuan Prince...
12) Charlotte has resigned Chris Quinn -
Year 1: $1,500,000
Year 2: $1,500,000
Year 3: $1,500,000
Quinn won't have as good of a chance to receive minutes on any team other than the Bobcats. He will receive 14-18 minutes a game. We have a great chance to improve next year, and I think that Quinn can be a big part of it as the leader of our second unit. We like his shooting ability and solid leadership, and we will use him to the full of his abilities. Quinn will also have the chance to get a better contract at the end of this one.
13) Bobcats waive Chris Hunter
14) Phoenix trades/Bobcats receive:
Barbosa $6,600,000
Haslem $7,100,000
Bobcats trades/Phoenix receives:
Bobby Simmons $11,242,667
Memphis 2010 first (chicago has right to swap)
Bobcats accept. I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I won't be able to land two big name free agents, so I am trying to build up trading pieces to get a star before free agency starts to go along with my draft pick, and any big-name guy I can sign. I will still have about $28,000,000 in cap space when free agency starts (with cap holds, draft picks, etc.) and if I can't land another guy, Barbosa is just another good player off of the bench for me.
