You named pretty much all of the best stuff I can think of, specifically The Wire(greatest show ever made IMO), Sopranos, Dexter, Rome(I just started watching this and it's great so far), 24(even though it's horribly cheesy and unrealistic), and such.

I highly recommend Breaking Bad. I've only seen the first season(waiting on season 2 to come out on DVD), but it's incredibly entertaining.

I also enjoy:

The Universe
Home Movies
Deadwood
Porn

All fantastic choices if I do say so myself.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Fringe-- It's a series that Fox recently started this year. It has a lot of X-file like potential. Currently on hiatus and if they ever think about canceling this show they will regret it.

I've heard such things about this show, but I've never been able to get into it. For whatever reason it just seems boring and unfunny to me, same with The Office. Perhaps someday I will give them another chance.

So why is there 3 dots after Lost...?

Anyway, the only shows that i watch and follow regularly(anymore) are Lost..., The Office and South Park. I used to watch Heroes but the show has gotten so bad, i quit watching after the 2nd season. (and from what i've heard, i'm not missing much)

Season 1 of Lost is the most engrossing television i've ever watched. I highly recommend it.

Lost is another show I need to check out eventually. I've heard season 1 is amazing, season 2 sucks horribly, but then it gets amazing again?

The Shield and Sons of Anarchy are supposed to be really good as well.

If i have to rate the seasons individually, it would go:

Season1: 9.5/10
Season2: 7/10
Season3: First Half: 6/10
Season3: Bottom Half: 9/10
Season4: 8/10
Season5: 8.5/10
Season6: ???(final season)

I cut season 3 into two parts because there was a relatively long break due to the writer's strike. Overall, i would say Lost is a great show and definitely worth watching if you can sit through the relatively slow pace of most of season 2 and the first half of season 3.

Conversely if i have to give Heroes a rating:

Season1: 8/10
Season2: 2/10
Season3: garbage/10

Entourage- Seriously a must have for men.
Hung- Great new show.
Mad Men- There's a reason it is sweeping the Emmy's.

Other than that my must watches are Arrested Development, It's always Sunny, the office and lost.

I endorse The Shield as someone mentioned earlier also even though i never saw the final 2 episodes. Eventually is guess, The Wire and The Shield was watched in my home religiously because of their real almost documentary type content. At times it seems like someone was following the action on their camcorder but in HDTV type picture on the Shield and The Wire is just a hard nosed/no nonsense real type of inner city story. The Fringe is a X-File based show with a scientific twist that borders on what's real, i guess X-files could be described that way also but if any of you X-files fans miss that show then i recommend Fringe, you will be very pleased.

The shield and 24 are good stuff, you never get disapointed with it.

I love Lost, quite strange sometimes, but really good if you can hold up.

First season of Prison Break was epic, rest of the show was so-so tough.

You guys are gonna laugh at me, but I like Desperate , very well built, even tough season 2 was less good.

The show with Glenn Close is also good (Damages I think)

I like the office too, and I can't resist watching back Friends whenever I have the time.

Heroes 1 was great, 2 sucked ass.

Arrested Development was great, Firefly was almost as good, and I am glad to see they made your list.

I personally like Veronica Mars but I am a big Joss Whedon fan and I really like Kristin Bell.

Perhaps not with the gf, but you owe it to yourself to watch Entourage. It can be hit or miss, but when it hits it is amazing.

Not a big fan of weeds, I thought that show was incredibly overrated.

Dexter is reallly, really good. But REALLY bloody. Not for the faint of heart.

And again, I'm a self professed Whedon fan, so I enjoyed Dollhouse.

Check out surfthechannel.net. They provide lots of links. DO NOT spend all that money on DVDs.

Agreed. And, of course, Hulu should also be one of your first stops for tv on the interwebs.

Lost and Entourage are pretty much the ****.

I liked scrubs, but it got old after the 4th season.

Friends was a great show as well.

Or icefilms.info

I would much rather buy the DVDs, but that will have to wait until I don't have tuition payments on my head every few months.
I'm sorry I haven't been funny. I am not a comedian. I am Lenny Bruce.
