You know I was reading some of this threaed again, and I was thinking...Cuttino Mobley Lite might be the perfect comparison for Lee.
Older rookie, slipped a little in the draft, good first season with a substantial role, thrown into the fire 2nd year, undersized, athletic, but it's not the focal point of his game, good midrange pullup game and a good 3 point shooter, solid defender, good personality and character, not much of a playmaker or rebounder and a good glue guy.
I say Mobley Lite cause the Cat was a 20ppg scorer for a couple seasons and a focal point of an offense as the 2nd option for a chunk of his career and I see Lee a step below that.
For the fact Mobley is and was a very unheralded player, he was a very good and underrated one through most of his career, although injured a fair amount.

So how should he approach this new challenge in New Jersey? We already have that answer - the same way he approached last year's. Courtney is here getting his work done – on time, locked in, in full preparation mode. He smiles, laughs and interacts with summer campers who didn't even know him last year. They all know him now.

"I'll take what I learned in Orlando and put it to use in New Jersey. It's a great opportunity for me,'' he said. "It's more of an opportunity to be one of the go-to guys, to really showcase my full talents. New Jersey has a good young team, and I'm going to be a big part of it.''

good article, obvioulsy what CL went through can be emotional...all joking aside...reading this I'm more confident he knows he needs to step up and make things happen...he has to go back to his W. Kentucky days and have more of that mindset...I just get worried with some young players (soph.), who let situations like this affect their game and mentality..Lee has a bright future, but if he wants a big time NBA career, he has to forget about the Magic completely, get things done on the court for the Nets and himself...
Play the game for the right reasons, not retribution...

This is super random, but when I first heard that Lee was traded to NJ, I thought, "Here we go again- Lee is the next Harris."
I think he's going to explode this year and Orlando is going to kick themselves in the face for doing that trade. It would have been nice to have kept Anderson, but Lee is going to be a monster.

I just dont share the confidence you have in Lee being a MONSTER...obviously I'll welcome anything close to that, but he has to prove himself all over again in a Nets uniform... and this situation is far from being similar to Harris coming over to the Nets...Lee has had one year under his belt, playoffs aside...and I'm not discrediting anything he accomplished in the postseason...But Lee only scored over 15pts 8 times during the regular season...we all know he didnt need to score for the Magic, but he will in Jersey...If he could double his avg last year of 8.4pts, that would be huge...

I hope he has a year like Harris. The difference is that he is our Starting SG. We need him to put up points. The only problem is you can score as many points as you want but if you dont play Defense it really doesnt matter.

and I'm convinced he can play defense in the NBA now...
