cj watson, in an identical situation, and a similar talent to sessions..... just accepted the qualifying offer at 1 mil to play for the warriors again next year. he'll then be RFA again in 2010.

i have a feeling were going to end up seeing the same from ramon..lol ideally we'll have him at 1 mil, on a expiring deal, and we can package him at the deadline as a RFA. we have a PERFECT offseason brewing here.

Yeah, Ramon at 1 mill is the best bargain in the NBA. That would be a good offseason.

Not sure if this has been posted, but if true it could mean Sessions is definitely expected to play elsewhere next year:

http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2009/08/arroyo-will-get-back-to-the-nba/

According to several sources, Arroyo, represented by Leon Rose, is in talks to join either the Boston Celtics or the Milwaukee Bucks.

Does Hammond realize there are roster limits and that we're already over it? How the hell could we possibly be signing more players?

I would like that move. There are many aspects to think about when changing the culture. Does anyone on our team speak Spanish as their native language? Arroyo is a step in the right direction.

Maybe we want to corner the market for PGs, you always need more than three, right?
Trade S. Jackson soon. NJ seems like a nice place for him.

I would imagine Delfino speaks Spanish. I think Elson is fluent in Spanish too.

But do they speak it with a Caribbean accent? Culture, twirl. It's all about changing the culture.

Now I'm confused.

We know.

Wasn't the theory that Hammond's moves made the Bucks lost all the leverage, hence turning Sessions into a de fact UFA (and that he'd quickly signed a contract)?

I don't think one person said "he'd quickly sign" once the Bucks lowered their lux tax space. People said we could no longer match a reasonable offer, and teams knew that, so it decreased our leverage in a S/T, which is an accurate statement at this point. If Sessions returns a good value S/T, then you can start tooting your own horn.

Similar talent to Sessions? Since when?

If we sign Arroyo to go to 17 current players and add a third mediocre to poor PG behind Jennings, Hammond has officially lost it for good.

Seems like this could be the 'it's now or never' play for Ramon. Sign now or we're bringing in someone else and you'll be down to the Clips and Knicks, neither of whom want to pay you.

Weren't we linked to Arroyo a couple of weeks ago?

Arroyo also played for the Pistons when Hammond was there, so there's that Detroit connection again.

I'd only be interested in Arroyo if Ridnour gets moved. Otherwise no thanks.

Not really. Seems like a let's add 37 players to our roster. 36 isn't enough.

Don't mess with the best 37th man of all-time, Walter Sharpe twirl. He'll shoot you, then shoot himself to make it look like self defense.

What? When have I said Sessions can return a good value on a S/T? That's nonsensical to me; teams aren't even willing to pay the salary he wants, let alone to give more value on the top of that just to sign him. I've always stated that asking Hammond to get something of value for Sessions is bizarre considering Sessions' market value.

Anyway, if Sessions is a de facto UFA now, why are people still saying that the reason he's not signed yet is because of his RFA status? This is yet to be answered.

Considering Hammond got more calls on Ramon than anyone on the team at the deadline, the above statement is bizarre. To say he has no trade value is BLATANTLY false, and anyone who has followed this team knows that. But when you sign Hakim Warrick and reduce your space under the lux tax to $1.6M, you don't really have the leverage to say, "you're now giving us assets for him".

It's just not a hard concept.

At the trade deadline last year Sessions was on a min salary contract. Now he is asking to be paid significantly more. That is the difference. Maybe all the GM's intended to do the same things Hammond is doing to let the market set the price of Ramon's contract. Those same GM's don't appear interested in Ramon.
