Any interest in Jackson?

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Mon Aug 31, 2009 4:02 pm

Jackson of GSW is demanding a trade. Boozer of Utah is demanding a trade so logically you would think an exchange would be discussed.

Possible trade deal that saves Jazz money: Boozer & Miles for Jackson & Speedy Claxton then Jazz can likely buy out Claxton since PG position if filled. I think GSW do it as it is unlikely they get better than thise deal.

Jazz Pros for Deal: Jackson adds toughness, championship experience, and leadership. I think this trade actually makes Jazz better for the short term and moves either AK-47 to be back up at both forward positions. It also improves Jazz outside shooting.

Jazz Cons for Deal: First of all he is a CON. He is a nut who used drugs in the past and still may use marijuana. He has 3 years left on a contract. If Miles develops, then Jazz regret this trade. Sloan may or may not be able to deal with this guy.

If Jazz are trying to win it all this year then you do the trade, but if Jazz are looking to the future you gamble on Miles developing and you dont do the trade.

My verdict would be that Jackson is not worth the gamble even though I think he would help Jazz out this year.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Cap'n Jax, I dunno, I doubt he would fit in well here. And that is not nearly enough value in return, they'd have to give up someone good in exchange, and the other only interesting piece they have is Biedrins and I doubt they would even consider moving him.

I talked about how Beasley couldn't be a team cancer because no one would follow him, I think Jackson could be a cancer. A cancer is like a guy who gets some people on his side and some people against him. I don't know if Deron is quite strong enough as a leader yet so that everyone knows and understands his way is the only way to follow.

Boozer and Miles!! That is an insanely bad deal for the Jazz. I love the idea of him in Utah though....

Maybe a Jackson for Harpring deal though, or if we need to sweeten Harp + Brew. That's about all I would give up for him.

Replace Miles with Brewer and the Knicks first and maybe you have a deal.

I wouldn't do a deal for Jax.

Stephen Jackson? No thanks. Not even for free.

Besides... do anyone really see Sloan, KOC and the Millers trading for him?

And ifnally... this dude's not tough; he's just a mindless-thug. How could anyone dare to put his name in the same breath with Harpring?

I actually like S-Jax game a lot. Too bad he's a looney. If his head was a bit clearer I'd love to have him on the Jazz.

Call me crazy but I actually really want to see CJ play for the Jazz this year. I have high hopes that in his 3rd (minutes wise) year he is ready to show real progress and release all of that talent he's shown from time to time.

There is no doubting the kid has all the skills to be the starting SG we need (with Brewer at the 3), its just been what seems a mental block thus far. But from what ive heard he sounds matured and ready to contribute consistently.

That all being said, keep him around unless he can be used as a piece to get a very solid guy. At this point he is a relatively cheap player that is primed to take-off this year.

Hell no, CJ has been killin it at the gym this summer. I wouldn't do Booz for Sjax, let alone throwing in CJ..

Booz is gonna have to suit up and will give us 20/10 a night on his contract year
Sjax is a chucker with questionable character, and he doesn't fit on our roster.

Sloan and KOC would shoot this down before it even got legs.

The only way I would entertain this is if it was packaged in a Boozer/AK deal for Jackson/Maggette and Biedrins. The salaries work. I know that GS loves Biedrens but there is merit in this deal considering that they want to get rid of Jackson and they are not that thrilled with Maggette who both have 3 years left on their hefty contracts. There is added value in Boozer expiring and AK's contract being short. AK would thrive in their system too.

hey, what about this trade, I really wouldnt see why any of the teams wouldnt do it

Chicago gets: Boozer, Jackson, George (any sal filler from GSW)
GSW gets: Tyrus Thomas, Jerome James
Utah gets: Luol Deng

we get our starting 3, golden state gets expirings and a big man and Chicago get turned into legit 4th place and beyond in the East

or:
Dallas gets: SJax, Law
GSW gets: Booz and AK
Utah gets: ellis, turiaf, dampier, dallas 2010 1st

get a long term future 2 guard in Monta, turiaf is the perfect back up big, clogger, probably the biggest impact player of the trade, and dampier as an expiring even if he doesnt get any minutes, dumping AKs hideous contract in the process!

my other idea, GSW have been flaunting Monta Ellis to Dallas for expirings...Boozer for him+turiaf. We get the most lethal back court in the game, interchangable deron+monta (we did so well with a pg off guard in 07 remember). Monta can shoot and is athletic, brewer at the 3, he's actually bigger than Miles and is a naturl sf.

either one I would absolutely love

I don't see either trade happening. The Warriors don't need another PF project. They already have Wright and Randolph. I believe the Bulls likely do it, but I don't think the Jazz would be willing to take on Deng's contract without first getting rid of AK's. I also don't see how Deng is better than AK or Brewer as a SF.
As for the second trade, the Warriors plain laugh at it.

What? You think getting rid of Boozer and Miles for Jackson is "trying to win it all this year"????? This makes no sense. This trade makes the Jazz worse...??? I hope you were joking...
