What Lakers Are you willing to give up in a trade for a PG?

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Tue Sep 1, 2009 4:58 am

We all have our favorite Lakers.

No one is going to mess with the Kobe-Gasol-Odom-Bynum core.

DFish is expiring but hopefully a Laker for life and a future assistant coach.

Artest took less to play in LA.

What Lakers are you willing to give up to trade for a PG if the right one came along? 8-)
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Some how make use of Farmar and Morrison's expiring contracts to get Kirk Hinrich.

It's too bad that Hinrich's salary is not 1 millon less than it is right now because the Farmar and Morrison would match better, but in stead we have to pony up another 1 million bucks to match Hinrich's salary if we want to get him.

I'll trade Sasha for a bag of rice at this point....... :-?

As for a PG, i'll trade anyone that is not Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, L.O, Artest.

uhm ammo, sasha, luke, farmar. Im leaning towards ammo but since he's on the low right now.. we'll have to couple him with someone else. But i think we'll see a whole new Ammo and a better farmar this coming season... contract year anyone? lol

I think (hope) ammo, sasha, and farmar will all greatly improve their trade value before the deadline. They can really only go up at this point. This should give us a number of trade opportunities.

Hinrich seems out of ability to obtain.

Do they want any two of Ammo/Luke/Sasha? I doubt it.

Nothing else really makes sense because Jordan's contract is small enough to still have to include two more players not named Mbenga.

To get Ramon Sessions, Raymond Felton, C.J. Watson, Randy Foye I would give up anybody besides the big 5.

I think the tradeable value for the Lakers is Morrison(expiring), Farmar(expiring), unlimited picks, cash. Everyone's favorite trade is Morrison/Farmar/filler for Hinrich +/- filler. Now this deal actually has some legs if two things happen. 1st, Morrison and Farmar have to play solid and 2nd, Chicago has to fall out of contention and turn their focus to 2010 FA class. I think the second part is very feasible. The Bulls don't have much besides Rose now that Gordon is gone.

Kirk Hinrich is capable of playing sg. He is 6'4 or so and Rose is also big. They let Ben Gorden go. There is absolutely no reason to think Kirk is on the block. If he was there would have been rumors already.
Kirk has played sg and even sf for the Bulls in the past. Kirk and Rose is a very capable backcourt and not 2 pg's which make them small. They make an excellent backcourt for now and the future.
Besides after the league being pissed about Gasol there is no way any team is giving the Lakers another allstar for peanuts. Espially since they can get alot for Kirk.

I really doubt that, I mean maybe Farmar will since its contract season for him, but Sasha wouldnt since he's getting paid no matter what. To him he would rather ride the pine until the end of the season for all he cares and get another ring for doing nothing.

It's a shame Farmar is being held back by our system, makes it difficult to showcase him for a trade. Imagine the kind of numbers he would put up as the starting PG of the Knicks. A Hinrich trade would make us one of the strongest teams in the history of the league.

I agree that the Lakers have a real shot at Hinrich if the Bulls aren't very good next year.

Nah, Sasha's not that guy. He's passionate about the game and always gives 110%. For all his shortcomings as a player, passion and effort are included in that long list.

I understand why so many of us ride him so hard (he's pretty easy to dislike), but there's no questioning his desire to play and his pride.

Bulls fan here, um sorry to say, yall aint gettin Captain Kirk.He is the owners pet, a good locker presence, excellent defender, he is a cerebral cat thats for sure, plus he has a streaky jumper.Since being in the asscoiation, he really had one bad year, 2007-08(the whole team tanked that year).Yes he is a tad overpaid but imo ,he brings the intangibles to the floor, stuff you dont see in the boxscore. FWIW, if we suck by midseason, i believe Kirk will be traded. IMHO if yall get Kirk, Kobe wins 4-5 more rings. The more im thinking about Captain, he starting to remind me of a smaller version of Jerry Sloan. jus my humble opnion.
