The rights to Frederic Weis...

Doesn't it bother anybody when you go to the realgm trade checker and find Frederic Weis name among the team roster? Is this some kind of inside joke from Morey?

We could be in year 2050 and still find Weis' right associated with the Rockets. Why... did we trade for his right? Isn't he like a baker now in France?

I dont know what hes planning to do with Weis. the guys what 32 years old?

You're overthinking this. In trades, teams are required to give and receive something, however small and insignificant. So when the Rockets wanted to salary dump Patrick Ewing Jr, they had to take back something from the Knicks. Since the Knicks were negotiating from the position of strength and didn't want to give back a pick or cash, they gave back the most arbitrary and useless thing they possessed; Weis's draft rights. And so that's why you have them.
