That gets him out from RFA, and even at $3mm a year gets him a lot more protection and options than if he just settled for the QO.
Somebody is going to step forward and put out an offer sheet that Ramon will be forced to sign. Carl Landry, Varajao, Bell.....all similar type guys who had their situations play out late into the fall and even into the start of the season. I'm guessing at this point Ramon is waiting to see if someone gets injured or a team has a hole they want to fill as we get closer to camp.
Interesting that the 3 guys you mentioned all ended up signing with their original team.
