Fantasy Schedule Analyzer

Hey guys, I developed a free fantasy schedule analyzer at my blog Basketball Free For All. It breaks down quality games, weekly game by game schedules and playoff schedules for all thirty teams. There is a lot of other data there as well. It is pretty useful and I'd definitely love to hear any feedback. All you need is Microsoft Excel.

I dont know how many people checked this yet but it is a MUST for every fantasy gm this season.

Terrific tool with lots of useful information. Thanks and big ups for the effort. I'd heavily recommend the use of this for every H2H gm.

Thanks, gentlemen. Basketball Free For All is a scrappy upstart in the world of basketball blogs.

Also, if you have any feedback (positive or negative) just let me know. I'm going to be adding a couple more features and cleaning up some sections of it. I'll re-post here when I roll out the next version so you guys can get the latest goods.

Use quality games tab to get to the playoffs and the playoffs tab to dominate the playoffs.

You gotta make the playoffs first (not talking smack here Blake, you are a champion)...

Those players with poor H2H playoff schedules (e.g. Bron and CP3, as you mentioned) are likely to play more games in the weeks leading up to it...so it's not all doom and gloom.

Man, very good analysis. I hope you keep it up throughout the year. I just open your blog up and I'm already reading deep into it. I know you need hits and for people to look at your site but I'm keeping this site away from anyone in my league. I don't want them to gain too much knowledge so I can keep winning lol.

LOL -- Fair enough. As long as you keep reading it that's fine with me. Also, let me know if you have any suggestions or feedback about the schedule tool or the site in general. Soon, there will be a lot more fantasy content on the site as the start of the season approaches.

I like the effort but I'm not really into it. It makes it seem that you should be drafting by team as opposed to the player. Everyone plays 82 games...just not as the same time--every team is going to have an advantage during certain weeks, all will get their chances. If you have a strong enough team to begin with, you don't need to be obsessing over who plays during certain days to get some extra stats here and there.

Plus, during the playoffs, I'm usually fixated on the waiver wire anyway and I would make the appropriate roster changes if need be for statistical purposes. I don't think people should be drafting players based on how frequent someone plays--it should be based on talent (fantasy implications) first. If you make good draft decisions to begin with and have an eye on the waiver wire, I don't think one needs to be this obsessive.

Well nobody suggests drafting a lesser player over a better one because of the schedule. Schedule is a secondary concern which you take into account where you are undecided between a couple of players with similar quality. For instance if you are undecided between David West and Antwan Jamison(two players of similar quality) then number of games played during playoffs can be a deciding factor(Jamison plays 3 more games than West during playoffs so heroughly gives one extra game to you for each week of playoffs)

That part also depends on max add/drop transactions, depth of the league, and league activity (if there are reasons for all teams to stay active during the playoffs).

Exactly. If you are in a very competitive league with a max add/drop limit per week, examining schedules is even more important when making your add/drop decisions (quality games). The goal of the fantasy schedule analyzer is to provide as much data as possible in a usable format to give you any advantage you can get.

And like nostradamus said, it's not meant to drastically change rankings. I usually use it as more of a tiebreaker if I am on the fence about drafting a couple of players.
