Alright, seven days. Like I said, for $3.6 this is an easy decision if Hammond has any intention of winning now and in the near future. You match and keep him.

Does anyone have the amount or years?
"I just wanted to play because I just love the game," Jennings said. "It doesn't matter to me. I get up to play basketball. It's my job. I have to still be a professional and finish the season."

the derek fishers, mike james, jarrett jacks, and rafer alstons of the world come to mind. rafer and sessions kind of remind me alot of each other at this point in sessions career.

I agree. If it puts us over the lux tax threshold with the rest of the roster remaining as is for the time being, who cares. Sign him and then figure it out after.

Re: Sessions Update:Ramon signs T-Wolves OS (page 310 update)
The scary thing in that MJS article is that Gardner speculates we won't match since it would put us over the luxury tax.
As GAD said very well back on page 7 (?) of this thread, things change in the NBA and the odds were great that some team was eventually going to make a run at this guy. In this case it is the T-Wolves not getting Rubio over here, so they now will give this a try. Ramon was never going to be "shut-out" or forced to take the QO or some of that other stuff posted in this thread. He's too talented and too young for someone not to make a reasonable offer.
The good news is that this should be a fair deal to match IMO. Hammond can seal this up. Let's hope he doesn't pull a Larry Harris/Kohl "ZaZa" here and let Ramon go over only 4/$16.

Appears to be a 4 yr, $16 mil contract with a player option in the fourth year.

Trade S. Jackson soon. NJ seems like a nice place for him.

that's the height of internet coolness
I'm not talking about him as a human being. I'm talking about him as a PG and a leader. His shyness or lack of assertiveness contributes to that too. People who don't put themselves forward (in an action sport) don't show much.
And I use that blunt term because fans of Sessions stay away from that topic like it was swine flu. The Joker says what the palace crowd doesn't want to hear.
AFAIK, IDKM

The first year can't be over 3.67 though...Right?
Everyone expects us not to match that....Depressing.

Re: Sessions Update:Ramon signs T-Wolves OS (page 310 update)
For the record, as it seems that a S/T is unlikely, I personally don't want to see Sessions matched.
After draft day I would have gone with
Jennings/Ridnour
Redd/Bell
LRMAM/JA/
Ersan/Thomas/
Bogut/Elson
Meeks, Gadzuric, Allen waiving towels.
Waived Oberto, not traded for Sharpe and Allen, not signed Warrick, not traded for Delfino and Ukic.
To me the above team is the worst in the entire league and a veritable lock for a top five pick. With Hammond's moves I think we can still be bottom three in record, but not as comfortably.
If he matches Sessions now I think we're sitting in that #6-#10 pick range and out of contention for a franchise changing stud.
This to me is what baffles me about Hammond. Like I pointed out above, that first roster has direction. Cut costs, play the young kids, get a high pick and get under the cap. I can get on board.
But the subsequent moves and signings...to me they look like a half-assed attempt to win maybe three or four more games under perfect conditions. If he's gonna do that then why not just bring back Ramon. It doesn't make sense to add salary and C level players but, for essentially, the same price, not retain your young B level kid that could someday be much better.
But like I said, I want losses.

Re: Sessions Update:Ramon signs T-Wolves OS (page 310 update)
The JS article has been updated and now includes some interesting quotes from Wells:
"It came up kind of fast," Wells said of the Timberwolves' interest. "We were working on a couple of other things, but we weren't going to wait around.
"He's fine. He's the type of guy who just plays, and he's very excited."
It was a long wait for Sessions, who was tendered a $1 million qualifying offer by the Bucks in late June. He received interest from the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers but never got a firm offer.
"We think it's real good," Wells said of the Timberwolves' offer. "In this climate it's an excellent deal.
"I think he played well enough to get the mid-level exception (starting at $5.8 million) in a normal year."
The Bucks have seven days to match any offer sheet to Sessions. But it is highly unlikely they will do so because matching would put the team over the league's luxury tax level. The Bucks have three point guards on their roster - first-round pick Brandon Jennings, veteran Luke Ridnour and recently acquired Roko Ukic.
"It would have been a tough situation for us and Milwaukee," Wells said of returning to the Bucks. "But I really like (Bucks general manager) John Hammond. My dealings with him have been very amicable."

I think it's the length that kills it for the Bucks. I think the Bucks want to be in financial position to acquire an allstar caliber player once Redd and Gadz expire. Having both Ramon and Bell on the ledger at those dollars is probably not in the cards.
I'm not to concerned about losing him although I'd like to keep him. Jennings, imo, will be the lead dog on this team in rather short order. I'd like to see Meeks get more minutes at the 2 than Sessions since Jodie can actually shoot the 3. 4 mil per for a guy that would be lucky to be a second string 15-20mpg point guard is probably too rich. This was the same argument that I made against Mike Conley who I think is a worse player than Ramon Sessions.
(the raise for the second year I believe is 8%)

AS a Bucks fan in Minnesota...I like the move for Sessions and Minnesota. At least if he becomes as great as some proclaim he will be, I will be able to watch him.

Mike James - $6.5 million, 8.7 ppg (38% fga), 3.3 apg, 1.5 topg
Sort of hard to take that one seriously as a player signficantly better than Sessions. All of the examples really, but that one in particular.
