He talks **** before the game to the media, then throws a cheap shot when confronted about it after the loss

Isn't there an old adage about sore losers are always the first to throw a punch? Maybe I just made that up.

Yeah, sure he was being taunted. So what! Grow up, big baby, and take your loss like a man and not like a punk-ass douche. Given the NCAA's new emphasis this year on sportsmanship, they MUST take action by suspending Blount.

I thought it was funny that someone running their mouth actually got it smacked in.

However, apparently Blount was running his mouth a lot prior to the game. So, ye reap as ye sew or something like that.

I guess in a perfect world they both would have been punched in the mouth.

"Shut up and play" seems to apply to both parties.

So far Oregon has come out with a statement saying that they are "reviewing" the situation :o

What the hell is there to "review". It was a cheap shot by a sore loser with a history of behavior issues. If "reviewing" isn't just a euphemism for "we need more time to complete the paperwork to revoke his scholarship and boot him from the team while gathering enough security to escort him from campus", then the school's administration is just totally oblivious.

The University of Oregon issued a statement Friday saying it "is reviewing the situation'' surrounding LeGarrette Blount's actions after Thursday night's game at Boise State and resulting punishment.

"We do not and will not tolerate the actions that were taken by our player,'' UO president Richard Lariviere said in the statement. "Oregon's loyal fans expect and deserve better.''

Blount threw a nationally televised tirade after the embarrassing 19-8 loss to the Broncos, the Oregon head coaching debut of Chip Kelly.

Blount punched BSU linebacker Byron Hout in the face after Hout appeared to be taunting him, then Blount took a shot at teammate Garrett Embry before charging at some fans behind the end zone at Bronco Stadium.

Kelly said he didn't see the incident, but he is expected to announce the disciplinary action later this afternoon.

"There is no place on the field of play for that kind of action, and his conduct was reprehensible,'' the statement said. "We then hope to put this incident behind us and look forward to the rest of the season.''

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

As a duck fan, I will always stick with my team through thick and thin, but the impact from this could be pretty severe in the near future. I don't think Blount understands how much he destroyed the credibility of the Oregon program by deciding to make such a classless decision. Sure, he had plenty of reason to be upset with his team's performance, but he should've taken it out on the field and finished strong instead of pulling this crap. All that I have to say is his suspension was well deserved and I wish him nothing but failure due to the trouble he's caused oregon's program.

I'm glad he knocked that pretentious white boy out, if you taunt you should pay the price, unfortunately we live in a sissified America.....

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Yeah, ignore the fact that Blount spent a lot of time jacking his jaws talking $**t before that game...it's all Hout's fault.

And you say "if you taunt you should pay". Guess what...Blount, who did is own fair share of taunting and trash talking before the game is certainly paying for his childish, sore loser cheep shot antics post-game.

Eh. I'm now numb to this, so I can post rationally.

Blount did what he did and was suspended for it. Period. Anyone who tries to take a higher moral stand is just piling on at this point. Action was swift and decisive compared to past precedents (FIU-Miami brawl).
