I would love to see him in a Celtics uniform.

Shane would be a great addition, but why would Houston trade him for what we can offer?

That would definitely be a nice trade. Not sure if Houston Rockets staff would feel the same way, though.

Houston would not do this deal right now even though it's actually a good trade for both sides. Boston gets the better player and Houston gets cap relief and a few less wins. The "worst" teams in the NBA are in the middle of the pack - not quite contenders but always in the playoffs. To be good in the short term teams must be stacked with veteran talent or rebuilding with young talent and moving forward. In light of the injuries had by Yao and TMac, the Rockets should (and probably will) begin to re-build. Hopefully Daryl Morey realizes that Houston's championship window has closed and he puts Battier on the block. I hope Ainge pursues this exact trade once the Rockets start losing some important games. Very good trade idea.

There's no way they trade Battier.

Yao will probably be back in a year, and in the meantime, Battier is a relatively cheap veteran leader with a short term contract who isnt good enough to screw up their lottery chances.

Battier is decent value at that price. Not like they'd be dumping a horrible contract. No chance they do that.

Houston does a deal like that to clear more space to sign a big name FA this summer

We aren't getting Battier. We don't have the assets. I've been over this but fans are always so delusional.

Also, welcome to the board, but don't take the cfan route. Post about stuff other than random trade ideas that have no merit.

The thing that shocks me the most is the fact it says this trade doesn't affect our winning percentage... That feature of the trade checker is a joke.
