Robertas Javtokas

Post#1 » by pickIBL » Thu Aug 20, 2009 6:23 pm

I've been wondering about this. I would think the Spurs would be focused on bringing over Tiago Splitter in the future. I know David Andersen just got moved from the Hawks for a 2nd rounder. Is Javtokas not a priority? Would the Spurs trade his rights for a 2nd rounder?

Personally I think the Spurs would trade Javtokas for a 2nd rounder. The Spurs gambled on Javtokas turning into another Manu Ginobili. Didn't happen. Even if we bring him here, it's not like he's gonna crack the rotation. I think even if he's here, he'd be all the way on the bottom of the depth chart.

If the Spurs can trade him for a 2nd rounder, then they can take another gamble using that pick on another young international player in hope of turning into another Manu Ginobili. That's better than having a player that will most likely be stashed on the inactive list.

I really don't think he's a priorty for this team. We took a low risk gamble on him and it didn't pay off, i'd deal his rights for a 2nd rounder if another team is interested.

Ever since the early Scola days my rule has been that if the guy is not here in the first two years, I'm not counting on it.

Trade his virtual rights for a virtual 3rd round pick.

Yeah he is done as a spur. I say lets get what ever we can for the guy. I also am concerned with Splitter. I don't want him to end up being another Scola. Would be so nice if we could bring the kind over next year.

Btw, wasn't that 40 inch vertical BEFORE the motorcycle accident? Does he still have that vertical right now?

According to reports he has fully recovered, I'd be shocked if it was still the whole 40 inchs but it would seem he has retained at the very least 90% of his original leaping ability.
It's a pity we could never organise a deal for him. Trading his rights would definatly be an option.
