week 1 is here!

Post#1 » by GSWbandwagon » Thu Sep 3, 2009 5:00 am

*dusts off the cfb board*

the season is finally here! no more training camp stories, no more conjecture. it's time for the games to be played and the Golden Bears to win their way to the Rose Bowl :D

games of the week:

- oregon at boise. ducks try to become a rare team to win on the smurf turf. boise needs the win to validate themselves in the chase for the non-autoqualifier bcs berth. oregon is rebuilding on both lines and could get exposed. boise is boise and could get exposed. or we could get a fun, offense filled game.

- va tech vs bama. winner gets a big gold star on their bcs resume.

- georgia at ok st. uga was overrated last year but has good coaches and good athletes. okst did well in the big12 last year, but only because the big12 decided to emulate the old wac for some reason. kudos to both for scheduling it.

you should be ashamed game of the week:

- florida hosts charleston southern (seriously, a directional charleston? ). this preps them well for next week's hosting of troy. plus their other big ooc showdown, against florida atlantic (also at home). no word on if tebow will be excused from the 2nd half of this one to go save some kittens from a burning orphanage.

Wow...I have been so busy lately that I barely noticed that the season was approaching. Looking forward to week 1...just wish the Beavs had scheduled a more challenging opponent for the opening week (come on, Portland State?).
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

holy damn blount going crazy at the end of the game. he just straight knocked out that boise st. player that was talking taunting him with one punch. what a cheap shot, but what a punk with the taunting, got what he deserved.

Taunting or not, that punch was uncalled for. This is possibly the worst game possible for Oregon Ducks.

Blount will be suspended for sure. This was an ugly game for the Ducks.

Upset Alert:
Northern Iowa completely dominating Iowa right now. 10-3 with 10:00 left in the 3rd and ready to score again.

Granted it's against northeastern, but Boston Colleges backfield is pretty talented. Haden and Harris look nasty. That's probably gonna be their only plus of this year.

Navy down by 8 and with the ball with 3:00 left against Ohio State after a Pryor INT. Ohio State is going to get crushed by USC.

Ohio State picks off the 2 point conversion and takes it back for 2 of their own. 31-27

Oregon St has put up 14 on Portland St just in the first half of the first quarter...including an 87 yd TD pass on the first offensive play for the Beavs. Too bad this game basically counts for nothing.

well oklahoma state has pulled it together defensively since the 1st series, and their offense got it going late though georgia made that huge goalline stand to end the half. okie state u got the f*ckin ball to start the 2nd half, get it to dez and let the pass open up the running game! if ur gonna have 3 wr's out their every play then f*ckin pass it more than running it

Anyone watching ABC's coverage. Where is doug flutie, or that other guy? I can't stand to listen to Jesse Palmer for the rest of the season.

Wow...UW has already surpassed my expectations against LSU. They scored on their first drive...hell, I didn't expect the Huskies to score at all!
