Good read. Thanks for posting it Rev.

Some of the comments are pretty funny.

Either way, I'd much rather talk about Rubio than endure speculation on Foye, Miller, etc. Instead, we get the benefit of cheering for those guys on Flip's team. And we get Darius Songalia, who reminds me a bit of a white Brian Cardinal.

I agree with what he said except Rubio almost certainly will not come over for 3 years, as by that time he won't be bound to rookie contract rules and will be able to sign a free agent contract. I really hope we don't end up trading him, but I'm not optimistic. At least Kahn doesn't have to make a decision for 3 years, he can just let Rubio's value escalate.

Welcome, I know it is your first post but after 3 years we still have ricky's rights and at that time get the choice to either sign him to a rookie deal or a MLE 5 year contract ourselves. But it is not a real free agent situation. Canis did a nice write-up on it a couple days ago.

Sweet, I'm glad to be wrong, I guess I just missed a key part of this article, IF we had cap space we could apparently sign him for more than the mid-level, or if we traded his rights to a team that could offer more than the mid-level, then he could sign for whatever amount just so long as it's under the cap, at least that's my understanding. At this point, I want him to play for us, but if we trade him for something worthwhile down the road, so be it.
Just so long as it isn't to the Knicks, or the Lakers for that matter.

I do not take it personal. I would only trade if the value was there. The reason NY is getting the flick-off treatment is that they simply lack the value to make a trade with us. We never know what our team will be like 3 years from now, until 3 years from now. We add value and we make something work. In this case, we do not know if Ricky, Ramon, or Jonny will be studs or busts. All we can do is throw mud against the wall and hope something sticks.

What is interesting is that if Ricky waits the 3 years then we can forgo his rookie contract and sign him for a 5 year deal. (I believe 5 is the max length)
