OT: BYU/Utah/USU Football Thread

Post#1 » by The Sheik » Sat Sep 5, 2009 10:35 pm

We have some time till bball season starts. Being as realgm has no college football boards I thought it would be nice to start one here. If a majority disagrees then the mods can delete.

Anyway I look forward to a BYU loss.

edit: I realize there is a generic college football section.

Nice, BYU is going to win without looking too good to beat. Great for the league's SOS.

Good win for the league. Not being a hater but BYU (much like Utah in the USU game) didnt show me their secondary has improved any. I wont take away from their win, Hall needed to take them down the field to win and he did it. I hope BYU takes this with a grain of salt and stays humble. Dont start proclaiming BCS or National Championship yet.

Are you serious Sheik? You cant be....that secondary was ten times faster than they have been in years past. There was a corner with a receiver on EVERY pass, wether they completed it or not, and when they did they all tackled much better than they have in years past, partly just because they were athletic enough to be in the area of the ball.

What you just said has to be one of the dumbest things Ive heard.....its as if you didnt even watch the game (that or you hadnt seen how bad their secondary has been the last 3 years).

Incredible win, but I am not getting my hopes up any time soon. I want to see us play Florida State before I really feel like I know where this team is headed. Still, hell of a fun game to watch there at the end, can't imagine how good that felt for them to get that decade+ monkey off their backs.

Huge win for BYU, nice to see them catch up to the rest of the MWC as far as beating ranked opponents goes.

Still have a bad feeling BYU is going to blow it against some crap ass team like they do every year.

exactly. it seems byu plays so predictable, even down to their mistakes. i dont remember which drive it was, but byu was in the red zone trying to score and i say to my wife "watch byu fumble this again" sure enough, not 3 plays later, kariya fumbled the ball.

that being said, i dont think next weeks game against tulane is as gimme as many byu fans want/think it will be. i wont be surprised for a loss and im already preparing myself for one.

What, you mean like getting shut out at UNLY of all crap ass teams?? Or getting throttled at #116 ranked WYOMING?? Oh wait, that was Utah.

Another stupid comment from someone who is just a hater....or someone who hasnt paid attention for the last 4 years. The biggest criticism of BYU the last few years is that they have pounded the bad teams on their schedule, but couldnt beat the better teams on it, so your comment makes no sense at all...where the hell have you been?

Good win that Ute and Coug fans should both be happy about. The more big name teams the MWC beats the greater the chance of one of the teams making it to a BCS game.

Such anger, such frustration. It's unbecoming.

I agree...they should just give them credit for the win and lose the hate and anger.

Will see what happens when you dont play a green line that can actually block your blitzing. Look I agree with you that they have improved, but are the secondary issues fixed? We wont know. Just like Utah fans dont know if Stanford and Burton will hold up until they get tested.

Maybe it was your scheme, but when Bradford didnt have pressure he had no problem finding receivers.

Im not trying to rain on BYUs parade, thats just my observation. I thought before the game you would live or die by the blitz and it payed off. Before the game I thought the only way you would beat OU is getting constant pressure on Bradford. For that I was impressed. BYU put Bradford out of the game, it wasnt a fluke. They couldnt protect him.

We will see. There is no need to be defensive to the point where you name call. I was impressed with BYU nonetheless.

Fair enough....I didnt think I called anybody a name..I may have described them or a statement they made, but didnt call them a name.

Either way, in your first post you said this game didnt show that the "secondary improved any". I guess you have changed your mind on that.

Auburn fans could post the same picture with Whit holding the sugar bowl trophy in referring to Bama losing to a "crappy ass team". But everyone knows they didnt want to be there either, so the result is not a surprise, nor accurate.

You wanting to compare losses to shi*ty UNLV and Wyoming teams to not wanting to be in a bowl game and losing to a PAC 10 bowl eligible team is pretty funny though...good one.

Your team is lame, even if they don't suck as much as usual. That's all I'm saying. :P

By crappy ass team do you mean finishing 2nd overall then yes I agree, Auburn fans can post the same pictures of Utah holding the trophy up as the second best team in the Nation.
