today mitre is back to being his awful self.. geez, this guy is just terrible. Hits, walks, walking batters home.. geez. I hate giving these types of games away. with him on the mound, the yanks need to score 12 runs to win a game..

letting mitre pitch us into trouble, you can see that girardi was throwing this game away... 8.5 game lead.... 27 games left.. he took an early "l" on this one... 7 run inning and counting.. wow... wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kind of a "whatever" game for me, reinforced what we already know.

there is a serious concern at SP for us, who starts in the playoffs after CC?

Well we know it won't be Mitre, so we won't have to worry about the starters giving up 10+ runs in 5 innings (at least I hope not).

IMO I put Pettitte as our number 2. I actually trust him in the playoffs over CC but deff over AJ. So for me it goes CC, Andy then AJ.

It was just an ugly game all around. 4 errors, misplays, running into each other... not pretty..

I wouldn't put two lefties back to back. I think the rotation is fine: CC Sabbathia, AJ Burnett, and Andy Pettitte.

Cashman got Mitre because he wanted to keep Hughes in the pen. He's basically rolling the dice that the Yanks can win 4 out of 5 tries...and so far, he's almost completely correct.
