Serbs leading early as Pau just came in off the bench. Spain still shaking off that Lithuanian thrashing right before the tourney.

Serbs will have to ride Teodosic for them to have any chance.

 Teodosic? He's not even their best player.

Spain playing like they are collectively under a very strong sedative and trailing Serbia by 15 points in the half!

This is going to be a very fun and wild Eurobasket, no clear cut favourites any more, anything can happen!

Solid Turkey-Lithuania match as we're at halftime. 39-39
Switching over to the Spain match to see if the Serbs can hold on to what would be a massive upset.

Garbajosa looks high as ****.
Pau is 0-5 from the free throw line.
End of the 3rd quarter, Serbia up 56-37.
One quarter away from a MASSIVE upset. Calderon isn't playing and Rudy is out this game with a quad injury, but Spain should've still manhandled this Serb team who only has Krstic and Teodosic it seems like.

UPSET! Serbs take down the tourney favorites Spain 66-57.
This EuroBasket just got a whole lot more interesting.
Pau goes 0 for 6 from the free throw line.

Close game the whole way, but Turkey seems to have finally pulled away from Lithuania in the late moments.

Turkey holds on in probably the best match of Day 1 as far as both teams playing entertaining, physical ball. 84-76

Yes, nice win by Turkey. Hedo and Ersan played great, while Oğuz and Ender had a nice game. Awful performance by Semih though.

Teodosic is definitely one of, if not the best Serbian player. It's either him or someone like Tepic, Velickovic, maybe possibly Krstic.

The only one that might for sure be better right now is Tepic. Regardless, Teodosic is certainly the most talented player Serbia has.

Very nice win by Turkey. Turkey, Greece, Serbia were the most impressive teams the first day.

Serbia will be a terrific team in a few years. Great win for them today, but they're still too young now (Teodosic or Tepic are better than Krstic, Velickovic or Macvan because they're playing in Greece...).

Spain was amazingly bad. Marc, Navarro, Garbajosa (he should retire already), Mumbru and Pau were atrocious. Cabezas and Raul don't bring anything except lowering the PG play to a dramatic degree. Scariolo has only himself to blame. They'll probably win the rest of the games but it was already nice to see them losing one.

Why is Erden playing so many minutes for Turkey? To me he's their worst big man by far.

Lorbek was amazing today, but they'll need Smodis to compete for the medals.
