Keeping an eye on T-mac ...If he does not come back as anticipated, the Rockets will need a scorer big time.
possibility of a:
Crawford-Morris- ATL 2nd for Barry (to be released and back to Houston) and Battier. Then ATL sign Flip back, in short Crawford-Morris- ATL 2nd for Battier and Flip. Also allow to sign a young big (Siler/ Sims in addition to O.Hunter who needs to be back in order to continue his learning process).
Bibby- Teague- Flip
JJ - Flip- Evans- Mario
Marv- Battier- Evans
Smith- Smith- Hunter
Al- Zaza- Collins- X big

Re: A good fit for Crawford
this is one of the few trade suggestions i've ever seen that i like, and that maybe could work. i think we could maybe even pull that off without the 2nd round pick. shane battier doesn't put up numbers, but if you look at the stats of the other 4 guys on the floor, their numbers and efficiency go up when he's on the floor. he'd be a huge upgrade over mo evans, and re-signing flip would give us that scoring punch off the bench. we would also create more minutes for teague...i like it.

horrible trade for the Hawks, with the talent going out...... but to another point, the Rockets would not do the trade because they are looking to tank this year. after Yao's injury, the Rockets could have taken a number to routs to save the season, but they didn't take any. looks like the Rockets are planning to tank, get a lottery pick, hope Yao gets better and sign a high end 2010 free agent. Houston is a major market and they do have a shot at going after Wade, Bosh, Amare (outside shot at Lebron)

I do understand the point that HOU may be looking at tanking but saying that a Battier + room to resign Flip for Crawford would be a bad deal, you must be out of your mind!
In the process, we could even decide to keep or trade Mo Evans down the line.
bibby Teague (Flip)
JJ- Flip- Evans
marv - Battier- evans
Smith- Smith- Hunter
Al-Zaza- Sims (or Siler)
I believe that our team will get more versatile and credible on the defensive end. Marv + Battier would buy you a decent shot at defending Lebron. Mo and Mario could releive JJ on D on 2 guards like Roy or Wade (or even Kobe if we are to go that far...I know dreaming)
Still does not help on Shaq and Howard, even though Zaza has built a reputation from seriously annoying Howard!
