Fantasy Basketball Signups (Draft Begins Today!)

Update: The draft order will be generated Wednesday, September 16 at 6pm PST. The draft will begin immediately and the owner with the first pick will have 48 hours to submit their pick.

Anyone not signed up by Wednesday night can join the waiting list.

So like MK and I just mentioned at the NFL fantasy draft, we are going to hold this years basketball fantasy draft here on the board, then transfer the draft results over to the Yahoo league. The draft will be just like Yahoo's, using the snake format with a random draft order determined by http://www.random.org/sequences/. This will help avoid the problem of people missing the draft and having teams auto-drafted for them.

The league will be continue to be roto with the standard 9 categories. 13 players per team, including: 2 centers, PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F and 2 Utility with 3 bench slots. I was planning on making the time limit two days to make a selection. If you suggest otherwise, please do so in a post in this thread.

To be eligible to join the league, you must be a returning owner, or have at least 100 posts. This is in order to weed out users who may sign up then never be heard from again.

Please provide your email address in this thread. You also may want to provide either mk or myself a list of your pre-draft rankings, so incase you miss a turn, we can pick the highest player on your draft board. The default pre-draft rankings will be that of Yahoo. You can access the list by clicking the "Players" tab on the league webpage.

We are looking for between 12 and 16 owners. Please sign up quickly so we can begin drafting as soon as possible. Good luck!

Yahoo has begun taking signups for this season. Please entitle your team name something similar to your RealGM user name so we know who everyone is. The league site also has previous rosters, standings and even draft results, so take a look at that stuff for a good laugh.

Great idea. I've seen it done in other drafts like these, I just had to look up the site. Thanks for the link. We will use random.org to determine the draft order.

That should work like in every other yahoo fantasy league as well.

The only thing special we're doing about the league is this kind of draft.
