Who knows. He didn't play this time around as he wanted to spend his summer signing his contract and settling in with Detroit. He has confirmed interest since, but I won't believe it until I see it.

GB are desperately in need of guard play, so I'll still welcome him with open arms despite sensing a lack of commitment/interest.

Hopefully GB can get a wild card spot for the World Championships.

I think they are pretty optimistic about getting Deng and Gordon both suited up. If Azubuike (whose siblings all have British passports) and Sean Banks get their passports, it will go a long way.

That Slovenia-Spain game could very well have been a final in this competition.

If Azubuike (whose siblings all have British passports)

Apparently, Azubuike has pretty much given up hope on getting his passport since he was having so much difficulty. You can count him out.

Where did you read that? Bad news, and I know the coaches of GB are talking like it's still possible. He seemed optimistic at the NBA All-Star break this year too, but that is a while back.

Germany to the next round and taking 2 points with them as Latvia has been eliminated :) Total Nailbiter... Germany could loose by 7 and still be ahead of Latvia (3 way tie with Russia), and with i think 13 seconds to go Jagla hits a 3 to make it 8, then they foul to have the last shot (seems stupid though but no risk no fun) and then Latvia misses both FTs, Jagla gets the board, gets fouled and makes 2 :D
Greene was huge with 16 points and most in the 2nd half.

Proud of the team despite just 1 win. It´s a bunch of role players with quite a few struggling to find a club and basically everyone struggling to find playing time with their clubs, the young guys like Benzing or harris haven´t even played in the first league in germany (that´s how **** up the situation here is).
Harris is going to go to Gonzaga next year, hope the NCAA doesn´t ban him for a year...

Latvia shot 19/38 from the FT line. Overall, in that group the FT shooting was atrocious with France at 55%, Latvia at 58% and Russia at 62% with Germany being decent (but nothing more) with 67%.

Latvian Center Kaspars Kambala is an Idiot btw. Should go back to boxing, might have to as he´s being questioned and possibly banned after flattening Hamann with an Ellbow after the game, under the eyes of officials.

I really like the German team now that Dirk's not playing. I loved it the most against the Russians at the end of the 1st half, when coach Bauermann put out a lineup of, I think, Schaffartzik - Staiger - Harris - Olbrecht - Pleiss, and Schaffartzik made a crazy shot at the buzzer. The German commentator was going nuts like always. :D

1. remote chance.
2. greece, turkey, croatia seem more likely to reach there.

I can understand Greece and Turkey, but Croatia? Apart from Vujcic they've shown nothing so far.

How do you feel about the matchup against us? We beat you quite easily two years ago, but I forgot what your roster looked like back then. You certainly look much better now.

1. if turkey tries to out-finesse its way to a victory against slovenia, they will fail.
2. but this year's turkish nt is much tougher on defense.
3. it is very much doubtful whether a game played two years ago when at the time the turks were always one play away from total collapse in each and every game has any bearing on what is likely to occur in a few days, now that both the offense and the defense seem much more balanced and functional.
4. of course, there is always the possibility that ender arslan returns to his usual self, the front court looks like a collection of deers in the headlight and hedo/ersan trying to carry the offensive load by themselves.
5. possible but not probable.

i think Turkey have the better frontcourt but Slovenia has more talent top to bottom. key is Turkey's backcourt, we need good defensive cohesion and Ender Arslan to make some damage offensively. i think game will be evenly matched, nothing like 2 years ago.

1. You still haven't told me why do you consider Croatia to play in the final.
2. Why are we numbering our sentences like this?

Can anyone post a page that has a link to watch any of the games? I can't find one anywhere and haven't been able to find it on American TV. It would be very appreciated.

1. counting is good.
2. keeps the mind working.
3. croatia, because they have recently beaten the turkish nt in a friendly game.
4. they are not clearly better than the other teams but with correct match-ups they can go some distance.
5. by the way, even though russian players are a likable bunch, that their coach is david blatt makes one wish that russia do not qualify for the bracket.

Friendly games mean nothing. Slovenia blew out Greece in a friendly, but I don't consider them any better because of that.
