Reason behind the Name

Post#1 » by Nicky Nix Nook » Thu Sep 10, 2009 6:01 am

Well as it has been continually pointed out, the board is dead.

This thread is a little frivolous but it could be fun.

Explain why you chose your name on RealGm. Obviously some will have some obvious answers.

I moved from Sacramento to Portland in 1994. While I remained a Kings fan after the move, it was difficult to follow the team...I rarely got the hear about anything more than the Blazers. In many ways I felt like I was exiled in a foreign land. When I signed up with the site I decided to go with that theme of a Kings fan in exile (admitted self-imposed exile) in "enemy territory" and came up with "KingInExile".

Longfellow44, I break it down into two parts.

Longfellow - pretty simple it's my last name.

44 - Is the number that my grandfather used to race cars under. He raced in some minor league version of Nascar about 35 years ago. He died in a car accident with a drunk driver after he won a race. The number has just always been special to me. I always use it as my jersey number when i play basketball weather it was middle school, high school or just a rec league.

OGSactownballer - It's pretty simple.

OG = Old Guy (not Original gangsta!) as I'm looking 40 in the face

Sactownballer = I'm born and raised in Sac and have been playing ball here since I was about 5.

KM- Kevin Martin. I've was obsessed with Martin around the time I got my account (I think it was 3 years ago or so) and I chose his name to be my realgm account. And I have always liked the number 44, so I chose that.

Smills91 - Nickname in Highschool and 91 was my football number then. It's been my handle on most sites I frequent.

SacKingZZZ - The sac is short for Sacramento. King is for King Richard the 11th, who was the king of England in the 14th century and was the first to both perform and undergo gender re-assignment surgery simultaneously. The first Z is for Zenith, the brand of my first 14inch CRT TV back in '86. The second Z signifies the significance in modern movie history of the film "Puppet Master 2". The third Z signifies the 26th letter of the English alphabet before the & is officially introduced as the 27th letter sometime late next year.

Dustin5566:

Dustin = my name

55 was for Jason Williams (fave player at the time) My AOL Instant messenger name was phenom5566 and I originally just wanted to be phenom55 (for J-Will) but it was taken and one of the "recommendations" was 5566 which I thought was easy enough to remember so i use it often when coming up with a handle because it is easy for me to remember.

My name is Wolfe with a silent "e", but some kid back in high school always pronounced the "e" and it came out Wolfay. It stuck and before you know it the whole school started calling me that.

I kinda wish I didn't pick it but one of my friends suggested it and I didn't really care at the time.

ICMTM

It's an abreviation for iCallMyselfTheMan. I'm that stuck on myself...

When I was registering for this site I was listening to a song called "A Name I Call Myself" By Souls of Mischeif. In the hook they say I call myself the man repeatedly so it because my user name.

I listened to this album (93 til infinity) for about two years straight before I finally got sick of it. I've bought it twice even.

Darkadun is a name i've used for a long time. When I was a kid and got my first computer I used the name "Dark" for everything. Don't even remember why now, been so long ago. Later on I added "Adun" because of the game Starcraft. He is a protoss character in the game, played it alot when I was younger.

Hence, Darkadun. Just kinda stuck with it over the years.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

Ha thats you lol.

El is spanish for "the" and as a kings fan, your alway looking Down "the" road, other than stoping and enjoying whats there, and thats nothing. The underscores simply refer to the kings as well like "The Kings, again, underscore their opponent".
