Spurling

Post#1 » by bigkurty » Sun Apr 29, 2007 1:04 am

Ok we had a thread like this for Aquino and I think it is time for a Spurling thread since its obvious this guys sucks. Please Melvin and Yost, bring up Action Jackson, Gallardo, or Capellan, or anyone else except Aquino who can pitch at a major league level.

You will never see Capellan in a Brewers uni again. I guess Jackson or Sarfate would be next on the list

I wouldn't be surprised if Capellan is called up. They sent Capellan a message that you can't screw around, but they gave Spurling a shot and he has been completely awful. They need someone to bridge the gap in that bullpen and it'd be foolish if they didn't bring him up because we'd only be screwing ourselves by not bringing up the best available.

ps. Spurling can pack his bags regardless.

So one clean inning and he did lower his ERA from 9.00 to 6.00. I still think he sucks though.

Won't be up this year. They will keep him as a starter all year in AAA to limit his innings.

Had Sheets not gone last night, Gallardo would have gotten the ball.

He'll be the first one in line when one of our starters goes down.

And rightfully so, the guy has 42 strikeouts this year in 5 outings as well as a 2.7 ERA.

just a blurb in the JS yesterday:

With Sheets getting cleared to pitch, the Brewers' top pitching prospect, Yovani Gallardo, was able to make his scheduled start for Class AAA Nashville later in the evening.
