On the anniversary of the WORST day in NYC history, baseball once again helps take our mind off the horrible event for just a little bit.

It's ironic on such a somber day like the 8th anniversary of 9-11 that Derek Jeter would pass Gehrig, giving the fans soaked and cold (during a rain delay) something to remember and pass down from one generation to the next.

That said, good lord did Marte look like garbage. Gotta wonder...do you keep him on the roster in the post season? I enjoyed watching Dunn get some work. Edwar Ramirez...one step closer to being released.

Yeah, what's going on with AJ lately? Should we rest him and maybe start him once or twice before the postseason? Is it injury, fatigue... ?

No, I think AJ Burnett is having Mike Mussina-itis. Who remembers Mussina's first season in the Bronx where he was hot and cold? I do and he struggled a lot just like AJ. It's all about location with AJ and when he has it, he's fine...when he doesn't he's hammered.

That said, I still say you gotta give this guy the game 2 ball. You have to. So what he got bombed by Baltimore...the O's can hammer any one with that line up.

What's more disturbing...the O's pitching is shutting down the Yanks potent line up for 2 straight nights.

AJ Burnett has shown the ability to shut both teams down. Also, the bullpen is deeper than the Tigers and arguably the Red Sox.

No, the fortunes of the Yanks will be if they can punish mistakes by these pitchers. It's been the problem for the last 6 years.

Good to hear the Yanks won after that stupid Pats-Bills game.

Return to New York Yankees
