Bob Arum on the MMA

The 77-year-old boxing promoter criticized Floyd Mayweather for fighting "scared" and not being an entertaining fighter. Arum also seemed to squash any hopes of seeing a Mayweather-Pacquaio super-fight in the future. But his harshest words were saved for MMA, as Arum said the sport looks like "guys rolling around like homosexuals on the ground" and called MMA fans "a bunch of skinhead white guys."

The best part is when the interviewer goes "I'm Jewish".

Watching guys rolling around the floor like homo's with a fetish for seeing blood and hitting each other in the face is awesome.

As far as his assessment of what MMA looks like, I think it's pretty accurate. This is a 75 year-old guy who's seeing guys positioned crotch to crotch with the one on bottom wrapping his legs around the one on top. It's not exactly the prettiest of images for old-fashioned thinkers (hell, it was my initial assessment of the sport too). As for his assessment of the fans, I think it's a little exaggerated but there are certainly hints of truth to it. Yes, MMA tends to draw the 15-30 year-old crowd more than any other sport and that is the age range with the most hooliganism but that obviously doesn't cover all of the watching public. That being said, I do security at a bar and over the past year or so, I'd guess at least 50% of fights that occured in or around the bar involved some over-confident (often bald-headed) guy wearing a MMA-related article of clothing. In fact, we used to have to flag guys with Affliction shirts as "guys to watch" because the trend was becoming so clear.
