Greek wrote:I didnt say anything about the Greek team couz until now i had my doubts, but considering our absence, and how thin we are on the guards, i think that we have the most balanced team until now. Big Sofo is on his best shape of his life, and i am following him for at least 7 years. Calathes looks like the future Papaloukas. If he he can fix his 3pt shoot will me scary in 2 years. Kalampokis and Perperoglou are playing well above my expectations, and i am impressed especially from the 1st 1. I love his poise and his confidence even if he is rookie for the NT. Kaimakoglou is offering the steady 3pt shooting, something that we have to seen as NT since Alvertis retirement, and still we havent seen Bouroussis best.

I dont want to say big words, but until now i didnt see a team better than us, and if you consider that we are always be a tough team, i think that we are favorite for the gold. B4 some time i said that we dont have very good future and our young talent is poor. Our youngsters made me to eat my words and i am very happy about that.

Anyway i am so happy to see that now we have the Greek School of basket just like X-Yougoslavians Russians etc

I am happy too with the way we played so far, but truth be told, we haven't played a tough game against a top team yet (Spain for example has already played against Turkey, Slovenia and Serbia).

Does anyone know where I can watch France play Greece on the 15th (links?)? I've only a casual understanding of European national teams, but France and Greece look to me to be the two best teams at the moment.

On this threat u will find lots of links. France i dont know if is 1 of the best but athletically is 2 lvls above the 2nd. Those guys are freaks, but most of them low BBIQ, and skills

Germany and Macedonia both with poor performances in the 1st quarter. Shot selection is awful, so is the field goal %.

After some promising flashes from Germany against some of the better teams, it's got to be very frustrating to lose to FYROM.

First tough game for Greece, they are trailing Russia 32-39 at halftime.

Russia had scored 3 points in the 3rd quarter, and went 7 minutes until they scored. Then they hit two threes in the last minute. Very low scoring game.

Great, great win for France. Nicely played by Croatia, but our dominant 3rd quarter was too much. Diaw and TP were really clutch, and some nice blocks in this game.

This game was painful to watch, as pretty much every game in group E so far.

Greece has played ok so far (even with the loss to Russia - not very important game), but i don't see them having that special quality that can make them champions or even medal contenders. In Eurobasket 2005, you could tell from the first game that this team was going to contend and had grit, i don't think this is the case here. I'll be happy if we directly qualify to World's next year, this should have been the goal from the start.

Indeed. Kleiza finally did something though saving Lithuania from that drought to keep the deficit in single figures. Great start by Lithuania, great comeback by Spain.

It's the first time this summer I have seen Spain playing their style. Playing this way -looking for steals in defense and running- it's the best team in the tournament, but if they make long plays there are many teams that can beat them. It's the same that happens with the Suns, they need to run.

+100000

But Scariolo doesn't want to run, and some of his decisions with subs and timeouts are still quite suspectful. We will find out who wins, the coach or the players.

All I know is that nobody wants to find Spain on his way.

Also a great game by Rubio, when Spain runs the break and plays hard defense is when he can show the amazing player he his.

5pts. 2reb 9assists 3steals in 25 minutes.
