With Nash proudly carrying the torch in Canada this February

Post#1 » by Alymero » Sun Sep 13, 2009 5:33 pm

I'm sure this all old news about Nash carrying the olympic torch across in his home country of Canada this February. Anyway, I was thinking might it be a perfect scenario if he was member of the Toronto Raptors by then? After all, Steve Nash would love to go to the Raptors and be in his home country just in time for the opening olympic torch ceremony. Also, I'm sure the Suns could get something of value to rebuild with if they do in fact send Steve north come the trade deadline.

Suns trading Nash would be the end of our team. We'd win no more than 30 games a year.

Nash is untradable.
The Phoenix Suns - 54-28. Projected Record: 54-28 3rd Seed

The Phoenix Suns - 2010-2011 Projected Record: 30-52 3rd lottery pick.

I don't think he's untradeable in the basketball sense. He's only untradeable because I'm sure Nash and our FO have an understanding and would be doing him dirty if they traded him.

Basketball-wise it would make sense if we got back some nice pieces and maybe some picks for Nash.

No way Nash gets traded this year. Nash to Toronto would be sick, but with you resigning him our chances of getting him are low now. I was thinking the Raps could trade Calderon for a sg like Rudy Fernandez, and then sign Nash in 2010, but you guys got Nash locked up and we got Calderon and Jack locked up at the 1, and have Derozan at the hopeful future of the 2 spot. Also, Nash does like Toronto and would wanna play here, but hes from Victoria BC along the west coast, and is more connected to that area where the Olympics are being held. If Vancouver still had the Grizz i bet Nash would have signed there in 2010.

The Suns should focus on keeping Nash and developing Dragic this year. Theres no point in blowing the team up, especially when we dont even have our pick. Next year, depending how this year goes, either try to sign someone like Camby and see how well Clark and Dragic have developed, or trade Nash and Hill to a contender, let Amare walk and start over.

Return to Phoenix Suns
