Rank The Wolves "Assets"

Post#1 » by Biff Cooper » Mon Sep 14, 2009 9:33 pm

I was trying to figure out which of the Wolves assets are most valuable to the franchise, and was struggling after 1. Jefferson as to where to place Love, Flynn, Rubio Rights, Pekovic Rights, MN 2010 first rd pick, Sessions, Charlotte 2010 first rd pick, etc. in relation to each other.

Anyone interested in doing one of those voting things where if someone gets 10 votes they get the spot in the rankings and we move on to the next asset in our rankings?

Assuming there will be some interest, I'll start the voting off:

Pretty sure Jefferson is the hands down winner and could just be automatically listed as number 1, but to keep the flow going.

1- Al Jefferson (5). He's a potential superstar, and he's young, and he's a big. Even though he has a big contract, he is still under market-price, and so the length of his deal isn't a negative. His ability to play center gives him points for position-scarcity, and he seems to get better every year. The uniqueness of this set of characteristics, and an upside that could make him one of the best in the league make Jefferson the clear #1.

1. Jefferson (7) - no one is going to argue that and he'll run away with it, so I'll start #2

2. Love (1)

Reasoning: He was from a strong draft class and he proved last year that he can play.

1. Jefferson (10)

2. Love (4)

Can't argue with Kevin at number 2. Had a fantastic second half of the season last year, and had phenomenal rookie rebounding numbers.

1. Jefferson, 2. Sessions. 3. Flynn. 4. Gomes 5. Love

I'd say our coaching staff is better than the team.

2. Rubio Rights (4)

Obviously Rubio's value will be something that will be interesting to watch, it could skyrocket or plummet, but as of right now I'm pretty comfortable assuming it's on the rise. I love Love, but his value, as high as it is, has less potential to skyrocket at this point.
